On Thursday, 16th January 2025, around 12:30 PM, my wife purchased Barbari bread from Mega Food Centre and paid using our bank account. Upon opening the bread, we discovered a piece of blue plastic resembling part of a balloon embedded inside. I have attached pictures and videos as clear evidence of this serious issue.

This is a significant health and safety hazard, and I want to make it clear that I do not accept any excuses such as denying responsibility, claiming this is not your bread, or suggesting this “might have happened” elsewhere. The evidence speaks for itself, and the fault lies entirely with your bakery and its lack of proper quality control.

Your baker clearly does not understand or follow essential health and safety standards, which poses a serious risk to your customers. If my children had consumed this bread, the consequences could have been severe.

I am taking legal action according to the law and reporting this matter to the relevant authorities. I am also posting this review to inform other customers and warn them to avoid purchasing fresh bakery items from your shop until these serious lapses are fully addressed.

This is a blatant violation of health and safety regulations, and I expect immediate action to rectify the situation and ensure this never happens again.

I love this shop so much! Always fresh and delicious high-quality goods. Good combination of the price and quality, all kinds of lamb is my favourite! Also it's very nice to chat with beautiful and kind girls on the till as well as the other staff.
Even when I moved to a different area, I am still coming shopping here.

This is my second time buying expired food from this store. Previously, custard powder was expired, now Cheetos that were expired over a year ago. This is very irresponsible and unsafe. The chips were stale and had no flavour. This store does not meet the standards set by FSA because of this reoccurring problem.
In response to your response. The lack of common sense is yours, it is your responsibility not to sell expired goods from 2 years ago. Clearly this is a lack of good management, it is no possible to sell 12 packets of “missed items”. And we opened it and ate without checking the expiry date because we assumed it’s safe if YOU are selling it. Take some responsibility and don’t blame us for your continuous mistakes. When we buy from supermarkets they check their products every day, they don’t sell things that expired 2 years ago.

They have plenty of Turkish foods and products. Stuff are very kind and welcoming. Meat comes daily, quality and delicious. Recommended.

This shop sold us expired food and then blamed us for eating it and not having common sense. Disgusting attitude and even worse management for selling expired food from 2022. That is not a mistake it’s a lack of responsibility to sell 12 packets from 2 years ago. If you sell things then people will assume it’s safe and eat it. Take some responsibility and don’t blame us for eating it, the fault is yours. This is the second time I’ve purchased expired things from this shop, clearly it’s a pattern not a mistake. Next time check the date on the boxes before selling a whole bunch of packets.

I've been coming to Mega Food Centre for several years now, and I can't recommend it enough. I'm always able to find what I need due to the great variety, and the staff are extremely helpful whenever I ask for assistance.
