Small shop, well stocked but some items didn’t have prices.
Card machine has a £5 minimum spend, and no issues for either of us paying.
Staff were fine: it’s more of a local shop, and not meant to be a tourist spot, so the staff won’t wow you with northern charm, but they weren’t rude by any stretch.

Rude staff. If under 18s can't be in, that's absolutely fine, but what is not fine, is speaking to people like they should know better - I did notice the sign on the door when I left but didn't upon entry and the security didn't say anything to us either. Also, unless there's a sign specifically saying "cash only" or you let people know when they come in, do not lecture me about using my card and trying to tell me the machine "might not work" before you've even tried - I've never seen a card payment go through so quick. People skills in this place seriously need a reality check.

Just been into the factory shop that is open to the public. I have to say it's the most unfriendly shop I've ever been in. Both women working there today made us feel extremely unwelcome. They just did not not want to interact at all. Unhelpful. When my hubby asked questions about what's made at the factory these days one woman had no idea at all and said she didn't ever go into the factory so had no idea. She was totally uninterested and seemed resentful at my hubby asking any questions. We felt like they just did not want us in that shop. We won't be going back!

Was expecting fire breathing staff on this one after reading some reviews but altho not the most friendly i have known certainly not unwelcoming no under 18s in the shop but after asking why this is as we had our 2 boys with us it's due to the factory not employing any under 18s and the shop don't had any extra insurance fair enough
About the shop was great all the mcvities biscuits we love at a lower cost than in the shops the offers clearly change regularly but I came out with some white chocolate digestives at 2 for a pound a big bag of gold bars for a pound 50 defiantly worth a visit if you like all that mcvitie goodness and in the area

Children (under 18s) are not allowed in the biscuit shop whatsoever, minimal advertisement of this policy. Take your children here at your peril as you will be shouted at and belittled by a rude lady who works in the shop. Pladis (owner) attitude to this is "it is obviously a working factory so you obviously can't take children inside, I don't know what more I can say" Lisa and Karen Brewer at customer service were very dismissive of our concerns and both told me where to go... calls to Pladis customer serivices are conveniently not recorded : license to be rude and abusive to callers.

Good place to go if you are looking to purchase branded biscuits at very reasonable prices. Terrific choice ranging from biscuits for cheese, chocolate biscuits and plain biscuits. Good display and shelves are continuously refilled during the day.

ladies who serve in factory shop are very rude.. told me off for not bringing cash and charged lot than items were labelled and this mistake happened every time of my visit...so do your math while shopping itself .. It is better to make purchase from supermarkets instead of being treated badly by factory shop staff which spoils your mental peace.
