Disgusted by the way I was treated by the door staff and manager of the Saint and Sinner pub in St Albans.
Refused entry with NO justification, suggesting we were too intoxicated.
We were a group of 4 adults in our 50’s and we were turned away as 18yr olds who were clearly worse for ware having just coming over from the Weatherspoons were ferrying in.
Totally ridiculous behaviour, by door staff and the spineless manager who would not have a conversation with us and walked away.
A nice pub but it will not have my custom ever again!
An apology would be nice!
Very strange behaviour, we were in shock with disbelief!
After this we went to the Peahen and chatted with the manager there and he could not understand what the hell had happened.
I believe you also own the Peahen.
Absolute joke.

The plough pub in Waltham abbey, I felt very intimedated walking in to this pub racist racism at its best. I felt low. And I done nothing wrong never there before and to be honest I always use my local McMullen pub where I live never a problem. Very unprofessional I will contact my solicitor. Not recommended if you have an allergy. We visited the Jolly Postie last night as a group of three, mentioned when we booked that there was an egg allergy, this was confirmed when we arrived and when we were given the menus, there is no allergy menu. The waitress was helpful but had no knowledge of what may or may not contain egg, she offered a naan bread pizza as they had recently served this to someone else allergic to eggs, didn’t really want that so seemed my options were to name things and have the waitress go and check, after this was done the first time the waitress returned to say my choice contained egg, then stood silently staring at me, no options given so I ended up with the naan bread pizza which to be fair tasted very nice, however I am not convinced it was entirely egg free given my reaction over night…

My husband and I had a lovely steak meal for our wedding anniversary in the heron on the lake Fleet. Cooked to perfection and nicely presented. Sat in the restaurant in front of a lovley open fire. Staff were very attentive.

Over an hour wait for food and my sausage in the New York Dog meal was over cooked and therefore very chewy. They did apologise for the wait and offered free desserts or round of drinks to make amends. Not sure if food is really their strength.

Our family had a 70th Birthday Lunch for my wife at The Kingfisher on the Quay last Saturday, it was brilliant ! The food was great and the staff were so very friendly and helpful, we will definitely return.

I have yet to sample any of the McMullen ales but wish to compliment this company for being such a pleasure to deal with.

I bought a car that was once in the McMullen ownership. It has been very well looked after.

I asked the Audi dealership (Stansted) that looked after the car for the service history, and even with the e-mailed permission of McMullen's to do so, they refused to help. The GDPR rules clearly state Audi Stansted should have supplied the requested documents as agreed to by McMullen's.

Very surprisingly and way beyond the call of duty, McMullen's sent the full service history of the car to me by email.
They didn't have to do that, but they did and that is why I have posted this review.

So, a stubborn and unnecessarily unhelpful Audi dealership sours a customer, whilst a long-established brewer that had nothing to gain by offering their help, wins the day.

I would particularly like to place on record my sincere thanks to Angie at McMullen's who was polite, professional and without any encouragement, extremely helpful. A sure sign of an ethos that prevails throughout the McMullen organisation.
