Ordered some beef short rib for dinner today - the short rib was very poor quality - cooked short rib many times and never had a cut that fatty before - had about 2 bites of meat.

Excellent, friendly service in the old fashioned sense, before self service became common place. A member of the backroom staff kept looking into the shop but didnt assist when a queue was forming. Has become my favourite butcher's shop and the meat quality is top grade.

Often scoffed buying FR or Organic at M&S at exorbitant prices saying what's wrong with an ordinary chicken for £5. Well today have cooked a 2kg Local bird and can honestly say it's the best ever absolutely delish and well well worth the £11 cost. Went in the oven looking proud and firm and came out the same . How many supermarket birds just flop flat these days! Heat oven to fan 215C mix chicken stock cube with oil & S&P rub over chicken. Put in oven and turn down to 180C . Cook 40 mins per kg plus 20 mins and enjoy . Perfect crispy skin succulent flesh and I had the cooks wing , it was good. Will be back for another one next week.

A great asset to the retail offer in Heswall. The meat is of great quality , great customer service, offer more than meat, they do a selection of stir fry, kievs, homemade burgers not to mention the ready made pies and cooked meats and very large eggs.

Fantastic butcher, great range of meat and seasonal game. New deli section, Black pudding scotch eggs and venison salami are particular favourites. Really helpful and great prices.
