Honest advice saved me around £500
I took an engagement ring (that wasn't purchased at Mallards) into them as a diamond had fallen out of it and I wanted a new one put in by them. Two ladies looked at the ring and said the claws were not damaged and although I had the ring for nearly a year to take it back to the jewellers where I got it as they should exchange it or repair as they said Mallards would have if it was a faulty ring. So I took their advice and went back to Lakeside where I purchased it and told them I had taken it to Mallards who said the ring wasn't damaged and they swapped the ring with no issues.

So thank you very much for your honest advice, because you could've clearly just put a diamond in and charged me. I hope you enjoy the chocolates I bought into you as a token of my appreciation.

I bought a watch from the Basildon store, Tina the manager was so friendly and helpful with finding me exactly what I wanted. Unlike other jewellers I went to, Tina took the time to show me most of their stock and also got it for a great price. Would defo recommend Mallards in Basildon.

July 2024 l requested a repair to my late father's watch. I only wanted a repair not a service as well. I was told that for the watch to have a guarantee it needs a service. I went to collect the watch today. (07/11/2024) l was handed a scrap of paper with little information as to what was wrong with the watch, and what work had been done.

As in the past, l am not holding my breath to how quickly they respond

The ladies were so helpful, but in particular, Martine was really helpful and spent a lot of time with me helping me to decide what I wanted. She explained the process and followed up with me.
