I had such high hopes but I’ve been so disappointed by this company. I really want to like them but they’ve made it impossible. The saga starts with delivering a veg box in unusually warm spring weather (ok but not height of summer where we’ve had zero problems with other companies). The packaging was insufficient and minimal cool packs which meant all our meat (£50+) was warm and smelled awful - all went in the bin. Some of the veg was also definitely past it - over half has had to be composting. But what really gets me is the lack of customer service. I’ve sent multiple emails just asking if they can put in more cool packs in the future - no reply. They then have the audacity to charge my credit card for no obvious reason. My account just says I owe them money but doesn’t say what for. I’m not on a subscription with them and it’s after my box was paid for. And they won’t respond to queries about it. Needless to say I’ve cancelled my credit card.
So basically from my experience - avoid at all costs!

Got our first fruit and veg box from them the other day, couple bits of the veg had to be cut off but would imagine that's normal and not wasting anything.

Oranges were absolutely sublime!!

I was stuck in my car in the snow & in the dark and a true hero in a MacLeod Organics van stopped and dug my car out. Thank you so much…. I was able to get to the charity event I was running so you really did help a lot of people that night.

Got a box of fruit and veg delivered a few weeks ago. Both boxes had a lot of produce that was full of flavour, the ordering process on the website was straight forward, and allows you to select items you don't want. It was also very good value for money ( better I think) compared with an equivalent amount of organic produce from a big chain, it was a lot of food that I am still making my way through. Will be ordering again.

I have been using Macleod for weekly deliveries since moving to Scotland last June. The fruit a veg is decent most of the time but there have been a few occasions where a few items have arrived in not so good condition and they've ended up straight in the compost bin. I would say it's good 95% of the time though. My main complaint is that the website is clunky, not very user friendly and subscriptions cannot be easily edited and managed by customers. There have been multiple issues with payments failing due to website updates. I have also had to email complaints a few times about missing products or products that have been substituted in my order when I would prefer not to receive anything at all rather than a substituted product that I wouldn't ever consider buying. I understand that Macleod is a small company and may often be a bit short staffed but there have been occasions where my emails have been ignored for weeks and I have had to follow up complaints multiple times which is quite disappointing. Some products are very expensive, often far more expensive than at shops such as Locavore. I do understand how buying power works and that a small business wouldn't be able to receive bulk discounts when only buying small quantities of goods. I have opted to continue buying from Macleod because of the convenience and it's a small business and I would prefer to support them rather than buying everything wrapped in plastic from somewhere such as Waitrose but they could definitely do with redesigning their website and following up any customer enquiries or complaints within 24-48 hours.

I started hating my grocery shopping at Tesco's, partly because of all that plastic usage, partly because I don't think it's cool we keep getting fruit & veg from the other side of the world (!!!).
So glad I can order my shopping online to get fruit and vegetables in different sizes (which tells me it's real organic stuff and nothing goes to waste) and other locally sourced and organic products delivered at my doorstep.
The customer service was also great - my payment didn't get through at first but they still kept my order and chased me for a couple of days to then deliver the order just two days later. Lovely and friendly staff too. Thanks!

Never again….

I was looking forward to switching to an online organic farm as my go to but sadly let down.

I never received parts of my order ( sirloin steaks)
And the whole chicken I ordered had to go in the bin. The smell when opened was unbearable!!!

Something must of happened to the refrigeration on route or the bird wasn’t fresh.
I certainly won’t be ordering from here again.

McLeod Organics.deliver quality organic produce to much of Scotland, including some of the famous health food outlets in Edinburgh, such as Henderson's and Real Foods, which is testament to their professionalism. They offer a fantastic, personal service delivering a variety of produce to homes through their website: weekly boxes of veg, or fruit and veg, organic dairy and meat, eco products and much more. The weekly boxes are great value for the quantity and quality delivered to your door. The variety is very good, and they are extremely obliging in making subsitutes. They are a small, family-run business from a farming community, and they bring a real warmth and care to all their dealings. They never feel like hard-nosed business people and are never too busy to exchange a few words. Highly recommended. They have a farm shop near Edinburgh, and sell at certain markets in the North of Scotland (details on their website)
