I joined the woodturning 1 day course on the 27th April, it was the first time I had been near a lathe. It was great to experience the physicalness of it, the high spin rate, the vibrations, the techniques for creating rounded 3D contours, the subtleties of the cutting edge and then, how to turn my rather rough efforts, with a bit of sanding and waxing into something very pleasing. Liz was an excellent tutor, helping and guiding throughout. It was fun and it has inspired me to take it a bit further. Maybe buy a lathe 🙂

Was bought a day's experience as a birthday present from my family and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was something I've always wanted to do and having now given it a go I'm very tempted to set up my own 'shop'. Liz was an excellent teacher, professional and very approachable. After practicing, I made a mushroom and a bowl (see photo). I'd strongly recommend this for yourself or to give as a present.

A Christmas present from my children. I thoroughly enjoyed my day of learning in the hands of the very experienced and patient! Liz. It brought back memories of those first days when learning to drive. How could I possible do all those things at once. If you are just starting out I would recommend you book yourself on a course with love-heartwood.

Fantastic sessions with Liz, first a full beginners session at her home workshop then 2 HR mother's day at the new facility. Every time Liz is welcoming, encouraging and on hand to help / instruct. If you'd ever wanted to try something new this is THE THING!

I book a day course with Liz as l wanted to get into woodturning, to get a bit of practical hands on the equipment and how to use the chisels properly as you can't learn everything on YouTube. Liz was fantastic, the woodturning was excellent.( If you not going to take up woodturning its still a great experience just to try it ) Liz explained the fundamental of woodturning,chisels and tools required and loads of other information. Thoroughly enjoyed my day, it was a great experience.

Had an excellent day with Liz learning the basics having never tried woodturning before. Came away with a mushroom and small bowl, which required using a variety of tools. She is an excellent teacher and I very much enjoyed the experience.

Myself and my partner had a days woodturning with Liz. It was a fantastic experience. Neither of us had ever done any wood turning but Liz is a great teacher, guiding you professionally but gently through all the steps you need to know to start your wood turning journey and putting you at ease throughout the experience. We made two items and have been telling all our friends about the day. The follow up information provided is really helpful too to give you ideas of how to continue on the right track.
