This place is challenging, I’ve not hiked in a while so it took me by surprise, unfortunately I run out of time so I didn’t get to venture the whole area, but I will go back! Great walk! Amazing scenery it’s definitely one to visit.

Super hot and sunny!
Why do other dog owners leave poo bags in the summit?
Easy walk, although a long one with stunning views over Manchester. Much much less busy than Mantour. Easy gravel paths with a little bit of scrambling.
Suitable for dogs, just take water as there are. I streams for a while.

Great walk up starting in Glossop, up past worm stone, up to Kinder Downfall then dropping into Hayfield for food and the bus back to Glossop

This is quite the hike from Bowden Bridge, especially in the winter. Saw lots of people underdressed and having to turn around. Please do your research before dragging your family up here in the colder months!

Really nice walk enjoyed it. Views were breathtaking, lots of rocks to walk through and the waterfall was beautiful to watch. I definitely would go again.

Really beautiful area, easily accessible with a medium size pay and display car park and loads of roadside parking. It takes about 45 minutes to drive from Manchester in normal traffic. Several routes to choose from to suit different fitness levels or time frames, some circular so that you can make the most of things and see different scenery. Be aware that there are a few quite steep sections, but nothing that children aged 5 and up can't handle. Also, the hillside is very exposed with a lot of wind in most of the area.
In short it's a great place for a half day or full day family hike. There are also more challenging sections for experienced hikers like the downfall itself, which is a pretty serious scramble.

The Kinder Scout Plateau is a stunning area to explore. There are multiple points you can stop off but Kinder Downfall was worth the walk and the 40mph winds we had to deal with on the day. Wind so quick the water was being blown back up!

Took about 3 hours of slow walking to get up there from Jacobs ladder but It's worth it for the views alone!

Kinder scout and the surrounding area is absolutely stunning whatever the weather. A busy walking route with breathtaking views. We parked in edale village, again a lovely little part of the world and had a wonderful days hiking. A must.
