Whenever I’m in Thirsk I buy some of their steak pies. They’re fabulous. Full to the brim with real steak, not 3mm of gravy at the bottom and a big air space above. Absolutely 10/10.

The pies here were recommended to us. We had the pork pie and pork and stilton pie, unfortunately they were both too salty and not so good at all in our personal opinion. We have tried others that were much better at other places.

Bought the chicken stir fry and took home to cook. So disappointed as it had split and turned it to a scrambled egg look. Drained about 250ml water/fluid continued to stir fry but looked revolting. I wouldn’t go back again after this expensive disaster.

This family butchers has a 5 star recommendation in every aspect of their work from my family and I and all of our guests. Sarah, Andrew and their team delivered a first class service for our special day, catering for a large number guests for both the wedding breakfast and evening buffet.

I hope that those who are reading this who are looking for a catering team for whatever event they are planning look no further. Communication was great throughout, coupled by reassurance and ease during the order process. The quality of the food was fantastic, which is a testament to their family business in which they should be proud of.

Called in on-spec as passing through Thirsk. Not much of a meat eater but the sales displays were so attractive I was attracted! Super friendly people who sold me a couple of steak pies & a pound of dry cured bacon. The pies were solid meat, super tasty gravy and no gristly bits, the bacon was a proper thickness not like a supermarket tissue lookalike. Gorgeous smell while cooking was only matched by the taste. Probably not going to be a regular customer but definitely a repeat each time I fancy a change from the A1M.

Husband visited this morning, dreadful service from young lad behind counter. No greeting, no service (apparently everything is “in the cabinet”) and the sarcastic “Have a nice day” comment after making a purchase and on leaving the shop was rude and not appreciated. Shop elsewhere for decent customer service.

A feast for the eyes as we walked in. Bought some pork pies, scotch eggs, chicken stir fry and sausages to take back to London. Wishing we were staying in Thirsk longer to try out more of their delicious produce. Lovely couple serving, had a chat with them about plans to move to Thirsk. Made us feel so welcome

Johnson's catered our Wedding & were absolutely brilliant. Very reasonably priced, extremely professional & the food was amazing. They helped us create a menu, provided options for those with dietary restrictions, cooked & served it all & tidied it all away. Their staff were great & our guests said it was some of the best Wedding food they'd ever had. Thanks again guys!
