Bought a haggis. Thought it was a strange shape (like big fat sausage) . When served up it was just like a puréed mush. Very poor texture and a bland flavour. Not spicy like a haggis should be. It's gone in the bin. Can't believe how bad it was.

I was passing through Wishaw on an errand and decided to save time and buy a steak pie for Sunday dinner from this butcher's shop. I asked for a steak pie for 5 people which cost nearly £18. Hugely disappointed to discover that half of the filling was taken up by 5 large pale sausages - see attached photo for example of one, very unappetising and most of it ended up in the food bin. The meat itself was reasonably tender but also anaemic looking and tasted bland. The quantity of actual steak meat was barely sufficient for 4 people. Thankfully my son didn't show up for dinner!
Steak pie padded out with cheap sausage meat isn't steak pie in my book. I will be sticking with my local butcher's who do not fill up their pies in this cost cutting way.

Still the best butcher there is in Lanarkshire! Amazing quality and great staff. Mystified by the reviews on here about the steak & sausage pies, it's standard in Lanarkshire!! But know they do all steak as well, just need to ask.... We take steak & sausage pies all over the UK as all our friends love them.

Took a trip up to grab a steak pie,
Got a 2lbs steak pie and a couple slices of square sausage for about £28 seems a bit high but figured ok.
Made the pie to find out a good chunk of the weight was padded out with about 5 or 6 link sausages at the bottom of the tin.
The pie was nice, the sausages that were in the pie were nice but I asked for a steak pie not a steak and sausage.

Bought various ready meals, customer service and delivery outstanding, the food on the other hand disappointing. Mashed potatoes had lumps in it, beef olive gravy was gloopy and hard to eat. Haggis was not a great quality, lasagne was tasteless. I haven't tried bolognaise, macaroni cheese or mince yet but so far not so good.
BTW food comes massively under seasoned

Fantastic quality, my family has shopped here for years. I was recently visiting from down south and stocked up on square sausage, sirloin steak and scotch pies. Just as good as I remember, we have eaten well the past 3 days😋……oh and the steak pie is well worth the 12 hour round trip alone .

I usually head to the Glasgow Road shop, because it's easier for me but there are a few more locations besides. The staff are lovely, and are always really helpful... shout out to Paul who keeps me right every Christmas and cuts a mean thick steak... The quality is second to none and the range of cooked and uncooked meats and other prepared food is fabulous. I visit as often as I can to support this long standing local business and have never been disappointed by the quality. Regularly pick up sausage rolls, steak pie, chopped pork and steaks and chicken breast. All fresh, tasty and sizeable.
