Lovely, friendly little pub with knowledgeable staff about the gins. We bought a tasting board for £9.50 so got to try them all before we bought a few bottles. A little underwhelmed by the actual distillery which was behind a glass wall. Not sure if it was an actual working distillery but someone was peeling potatoes!!

What a great pub, clean, friendly, comfortable, wheelchair user's would be comfortable, tried the taster board with all the gins, would recommend, lovely. That's the gin taster bar, a larger bar serves everything else, from coffee to beer.

Smaller than expected but nice place with a nice welcome. Was going to buy a bottle of gin but had previously seen on Amazon @£32.95 with free P&P so could not justify £39.90 at the home source, despite trying to support local. Crazy times!
The bottles are stunning and I noticed a local restaurant using them as water bottles on tables.

Really friendly people. Made us and out two dogs very welcome.
Explained all about the various drinks that they make. We went for the alcohol ? sample board and blew our heads off ?. Then stopped for food to help soak up the booze.
Very knowledgeable about the making of the various gins, vodka and rum.

We took a day trip over to Ryde on the hovercraft and we noticed that there was a promotion on where each adult passenger could claim a free taster board worth £9.50. I was highly sceptical but we decided to take the short bus ride (which stopped literally right outside) and we were so pleased we did. It's a small but beautiful pub with a glass viewing wall to the distliiary. The staff were welcoming and extremely friendly and were very enthusiastic about the product. We did purchase a bottle of the mermaid spiced rum which was our favourite but it's important to stress that there was absolutely no pressure to purchase anything. Would recommend and will definitely visit again.

Visited on a very wet day and it was busy. It’s really just a pub! Bit disappointing how little info about the gin making itself. Went up to do tastings as I’d tried the gin before and wanted to buy a bottle. The Mermaid Gin bottles are beautiful.

The chap on the tastings area was very off-hand.

We explained one of us was driving and didn’t like gin (but he wanted to try the vodka before buying a bottle) and my elderly Mum is on medication that doesn’t allow her to drink. So I didn’t want to buy a 7 glass tasting board for £9.50. He said “people bought the boards to try before buying”. (Yes that’s the idea of Tastings!!) but I can let you have a little try and made us feel like he felt we were trying to blag free drinks!! Very poor sales skills.

We actually bought 3 bottles between us so almost £120. I asked if there were any bags as carrying 3 bottles , 2 umbrellas and helping my ill elderly Mum to the car was difficult.

He said the canvas tote bags were £3. Now if someone spends over £100 you think you’d give them a bag that cost you probably £1 and is going to do your advertising for you. Very short sighted.

Left a sour taste after our visit. Can’t recommend based on our experience. The gin was actually almost £2 cheaper in Morrisons LOL So just a glorified pub and a bit of a tourist trap with poor customer service.

We visited a week ago for the second time, first time was in 2019 while we were on holiday and unfortunately it seems nothing has changed it was the same poor service as it was 5 years ago. It also makes no sense that the price of a bottle of Gin is more than you can buy it else where.
