If you had told me Bedford had a vineyard I would have laughed in your face. If you then said that it produced superb quality wine I would have called you a liar. But it turns out this is absolutely true. Merstone Wines from Hungerhill are without a doubt extraordinary. The tour shows you this family run vineyard is an utter gem, the owners are lovely people committed to making a quality product and the product is indeed high quality. While some might blanch at the £22 a bottle cost, if you see the place and meet the people and taste the wine you will see that this is great value. I highly recommend the tour and tasting, it will thrill your tastebuds.

Hungerhill Vineyard is run by a beautiful and passionate family. Andrew's wines are divine and the attention to detail is remarkable. The care the Hungerhill Vineyard team take to make sure every bottle is perfect and their customer service is outstanding. I've been lucky enough to taste a few of their wine and they have all be exceptional, my personal favourites are Pinot Noir and Ortega. Well done Hungerhill, I'm looking forward to seeing what you create next.

I was lucky to hear about Merstone Rosé 2022 through word of mouth and can best equate it to sunshine on a rainy day (which it was the day we opened it! ) Much more substantial than your average rose, with a tiny hint of a spritz on the first sip, it is both crisp but rich with berries watermelon and floral tastes. It knocks the socks off your standard English Rose! Small batch so you should get some before we buy the rest!!!
