Worst yard I have ever stepped foot on! 100% would not recommend. The arenas are unusable and dangerous. The indoor is too narrow to ride in very boggy and slippy in areas and then rock hard in others. The outdoor is constantly waterlogged, full of stones and the fencing is broken (which you will get blamed for even though it was like that before you moved on) and even found bits of wood with nails on in there, never mind the walk round past the muck heap through boggy mud to get to it. The farmer on several occasions brought his tractor round purely to make a racket while I was riding but not actually doing any jobs and then sits there laughing while your horse is scared and playing up. The fields are unsafe with massive holes, no suitable water source, thick mud and barbed wire hanging off the fencing. The feeding every morning consists of hitting your horse and making them ridiculously head-shy and scared in their own stables and the farmer and his wife will help themselves to anything in your tack room for their own horses then have the cheek to shout at you for putting a lock on. I witnessed them hitting another liveries horse on several occasions for kicking the stable door. One of their horses attacked mine in the field, he came in with wounds and instead of asking if he was ok the farmer laughed and said he must have deserved it. You will be shouted at for no reason, threatened, blocked from leaving and made to feel like you shouldn’t be spending time with your own horse as it’s their land. The times of entry are unreasonable if you actually work any kind of shift pattern. The most rude, obnoxious people I have ever had the displeasure of knowing. The most uncomfortable yard I’ve ever been on in 20 years of owning horses and you couldn’t pay me to spend another minute there. Their own horses are left on filthy bedding with no hay or water on the days that they don’t have loaners. If that doesn’t tell you what you need to know about someones character I don’t know what does. One star is too kind. This place should be shut down for good!

Hough Farm is an excellent yard. The stable we were given was lovely and large, the facilities are fantastic with an indoor and an outdoor school, and the owners are knowledgeable and friendly.
Hacking from the yard is on quiet bridle ways and roads, and the countryside is lovely.
There is an option for part livery, summer grazing is good and the owners Tom and Simone really care about the horses on the yard. We have really enjoyed our time on Hough Farm, and only wish it was closer to our house - if it was we would never have moved!

Great place to ride, keep a horse and work with. It was my first day today and I already felt so comfortable. The people that are there are so kind and polite. Lovely environment to be in. I LOVE ITTT

Originally we moved here a year ago and was over the moon with the amount of space and how friendly everyone was. During the course of this year, we noticed how myself and a couple of other people were being treated differently. One rule for one, and another rule for someone else. The lack of communication between the owners is detrimental to their buisness. We've been shouted at and walked away from when trying to have the simplest of conversations. Its a shame because this yard has such potential. Avoid at all costs if you wanna pay extortionate prices for shavings and loaning!!

A lovely yard with great owners. Simone and Tom are very approachable and always have time for you. Having an indoor, outdoor and hacking from the farm is wonderful with the bonus of fabulous views when riding in the outdoor.

Had a great time at this yard with my loan horse Roma and loved having a great group of people around me ❤️ I left very recently only because my personal circumstances changed but I loved every minute of being there. The owners are always very approachable and will answer any question you have. The facilities are great and there are a few nice hacking routes around the area. Will definitely miss the place.

I moved here about a year ago with my loaner and my other half. Originally we thought the yard was fantastic. Since moving we have been treated very poorly. The owners of the yard do not communicate with each other so when a conversation is had with one of them, the other will dispute it days later, ending in argument. The owners are unable to reason with so disagreement ends with the owners shouting at you and putting their hands in your face (during covid) when it could have been settled with a calm single conversation.
Rules that apply for one do not apply for others. Where some are allowed to bank transfer for things like shavings, the idea of others doing the same begins shouting arguments and ending in threats of them throwing us off the yard.
Picture for proof of business with them as when my other half and loaner posted reviews they were replied with 'you haven't done business with us' even though they have been known to them for over a year.

Edit- I have since emailed to get feedback of my review as asked in their reply, and they have failed to reply

Very friendly yard with brilliant owners, providing fantastic facilities and a great service. The owners are extremely accommodating and will always do their best to support you and your horses requirements. My horse is very settled and happy here (and she can be a total Diva! lol) I would hightly recommend this yard, superb provisions and great location for hacking 🙂
