Been patronising WH Higgins for 13 years since moving to Chorleywood, which is now struggling to be even a one horse town. Very little choice of anything for consumers so thank god for this gem of a butchers shop which has improved on its already excellent reputation during the last few months. The experienced gents are knowledgeable, attentive and polite as is the new young gent who has been there a couple of months. Made us an excellent beef stir fry this weekend which will be devoured before the weekend is over. Just had the bacon and eggs for breakfast. Probably the best shop and business in Chorleywood along with Strattons bakery.

Very friendly service that does go a long way these days but it's not all about the service. This review is based on bacon alone so far.

I know all the other meat I've just purchased will be as good. You can feel the meat quality in its raw state.

I'm very much looking forward to trying out the sausages, steaks and mince in the coming days and then I'll be back to stock up the freezer from a quality butcher

I recently had an excellent experience with W.H. Higgins Butchers in Chorleywood that I want to share. I bought a 3kg beef rib roast, and was delighted to learn from the Butcher it was sourced from the Scottish Highlands.
The attention to detail in preparing this cut for me was incredible.

I took this meat home with me to Zurich, where it was roasted to 52°C, respecting the quality of the product. W.H. Higgins Butchers provided a high-quality product and a memorable experience. They definitely earn five stars from me. #SupportLocal

Be careful when you visit this butchers - they make up the prices, add a bit on top then will keep the change without asking you.

The best butchers ever! It is like going back in time to when old fashioned service and customer loyalty meant something. Their meat is always fresh and top quality. You can nearly always get exactly what you need for special recipes, plus the young lady Samantha there is super helpful with advice on how to cook certain cuts of meat. I love this butcher, can you tell 🙂

Just bought thick cut rib, sirloin for the BBQ. Couldn't find the cut anywhere else locally. Cooked perfectly and tasted immense. Highly recommend.
