Absolutely brilliant experience we had here! The tour was adjusted to our level (we were a group of professional chemists), and the guides were very knowledgeable about every aspect of the operation of the plant. Very much worth the time to get familiar with the basics of how a nuclear power plant generates electricity. Kid friendly as well!

Came to the visitor centre, but we were sent away, because apparently there was a group of children visiting. Nowhere on the site it said we had to book in advance. Now we will never know how nuclear energy works.

The tour was amazing! We looked at the reactor, control room and turbine hall. The tour guides also were knowledgeable of the plant and gave very good descriptions of the plant itself. Would definitely recommend

Great visitors centre and today we had booked a tour which was excellent. Julie and Kerry conducted our very interesting tour around the reactor and generating hall.

Visited here on my way to the TT on the Isle of Mann. Sadly, it blocked my ability to experience time in a non-linear way so I was unable to see the extortionate prices of the drinks on the ferry and ensure I had enough cash to get drunk. Giving 3 stars because its power could, in the wrong hands, be subverted to block my ability to see the future thus resulting in a catastrophe that could be avoided.

Had a great time yesterday at heysham 2, we had a lesson at first on how it all worked (ive never heard of an AGR Reactor) but we got to see the reactor and the refuling machine, the control room and the turbine hall (had to lift my ear defenders slightly to get an idea just how loud it was, and it was loud and one of the turbines wasnt running, nothing can prepare you for the sheer size of it all, its amazing, I will be going again deffinatly 🙂
