Walking my dog there this morning. (muzzled) He walked up to a staffie known as Cocoa. We called him back knowing Cocoa (never muzzled) is known for attacking other dogs. Which it then did with ours, After an arguement the woman said to other people "everybody blames my dog" Apart from that the place is great for offlead walks.

A nice walk through natural woodland and medows.

Dogs are not allowed on the nature reserve itself. However, there is a dedicated off lead dog walking area just to the left which is safe secure, fenced in and away from roads.

Gets quite muddy in winter due to lots of feet and paws on the grass, but there is a gravel footpath running all the way. My springer loves it here, definitely recommended for the more active dog to stretch its legs.

Following the path right round you can walk to the shore and around the power station perimeter

It's alright if you ignore the high power lines buzzing above it's not massive it's well maintained and offers views of the harbour and 2 massive nuclear power stations.

Lovely and tranquil place. Nature doesn't mind the nuclear power stations, noise from the port and overhead pylons.

First visit but quite impressed. Walked from the car park down to a small beach overlooked by a static home park. Then you can follow the wall around the Heysham nuclear site, all the way to the harbour wall of the port. Lots more to explore so would definitely revisit.
