Just returned from a fantastic week at Hembury gate farm. We stayed in the Shipton cottage and was not disappointed. Immaculate on arrival and hot tub was a added bonus. Lovely friendly hosts in a beautiful area.

Absolutely wonderful place to stay! Best holiday cottage we've been to. Julie and Tom had thought of every last detail. The hot tub was amazing and the dog had a field to play ball in. Some beautiful walks and lovely peaceful location. Highly recommend!

Just returned home from spending a glorious week in The Hayloft, and we were in love with this place. From the moment we were welcomed by Julie, late on a Friday evening, with two hunks of Mary Berry Chocolate cake, and a hot tub waiting to soak away a longer than planned 8 hour drive, we knew we were in Devon Heaven.
The accommodation was scrupulously clean, the bed was so comfortable, the kitchen had absolutely everything we needed to cook with, and the sofa super relaxing at the end a long day. Apart from tractors bringing in the harvest, birdsong and braying donkeys, the countryside was peaceful and restful, with pitch black skies.
Special praise needs to be levelled at our host, Julie, who, I'm sure, is nuclear powered. She never stops, but always had time to chat no matter how much this put her back, and the quality of the experience shows a keen sense of perfection that is lacking in so many places we have stayed. Her partner has crafted several pieces of fine furniture, and I loved the scandi-style dining table, which dear old Conran would have snapped up!
In the post Covid world of 2021 we hope to revisit.

lovely and clean. had every thing you could need. owners very friendly and helpful. partner was in the hot tub every day rain or shine. good location for getting to main attractions. will be going back.
