Harvey Self Drive, have some very good Mercedes vans, and represent good value for money. The welcoming receptionist is extremely helpful and represents a breath of fresh air.

Similar to other reviewers, the lady I spoke to on the phone was unnecessarily rude and abrasive.

Probably would have transacted with them if it wasn't for this. If this is how they behave when acquiring customers, can't imagine how bad they are after they make the sale

Great experience with Harvey Self Drive. Hired two 7.5t lorries to move house. Did the job perfectly and at a very reasonable price. Staff were great and super accommodating. I must admit that after reading some of the previous reviews I was a little sceptical but these reviews, in my experience, couldn't be further from the truth. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Called the company this morning, spoke to some lady that was very abrasive and rude. I politely inquired about a simple van hire and she spoke over me with a strong tone.

Based on this I have no interest in using them. Price seemed ok but the £850 excess charge seems intense as well. That combined with the rudeness was a no from me ?

Will not use this company again. The van is non returnable after 6pm and your car gets locked behind the gates so if you’re doing anything crazy like moving house or travelling a distance then make sure you do it all by 6pm! The previous reviews about the lady’s attitude are correct .

I can’t give Harvey’s 1 Star after my overall experience with them, as their service and price was second to none.

However!
I returned the vehicle as I took it, full of fuel and nothing broken. I don’t get any phone calls from them, but on checking my bank noticed they had taken an additional amount of money. When I called them to question it, they informed me it was for a broken mirror, which I 100% know wasn’t broken when I took it back. During the phone call, their attitude was not only childish, but obvious that they had done this before and this was the way to deal with the matter. Her attitude stinks, she is rude and offensive so be warned.

I have lost that money, but this review is to warn everyone to check thoroughly the vehicle (as I did) and take photos of it in their yard (which foolishly I didn’t)

Love this company. Have used them many times since we moved to the area 3 years ago and every time they have provided a great service, with Michelle on front desk, who is lovely. I just rang requesting a tail lift van but they had none and so reluctantly I went to A. Another and received a quote that would have been a decent deposit if I was buying the van. Luckily Michelle had a cancellation and called me back and I now have my weekend sorted at a third of the cost of A. Another. Harvey have not increased their pricing, where I notice others are putting up pricing depending on demand, which is shameful when we are all struggling. I will keep my loyalty with Harvey and highly recommend them.

These guys sorted me a van at last minute and it was a dream. Very affordable, and excellent customer service. Many many thanks and I would highly recommend! Someone below reviewed two weeks ago and said it wasn't clear that your car would be locked in in you didn't return the van on time or arrive before they lock the gates. Completely untrue - its written in the van, on the paperwork, and they tell you when you collect. Its not their fault if you don't return the van on time.......
