After driving past it countless times over the last 30 years in London, I finally decided to pop in and have a look. It’s funny how you can be so familiar with a place from the outside but never actually step inside.

The farm was well-organized and had a charming, welcoming feel. Among the animals, I spotted sheep, peacocks, pigs, and goats, along with a gander of geese confidently patrolling their territory. There were also a few pigeons around—though I suspect they weren’t exactly invited guests!

Beyond the animals, the place had a lovely garden, well-kept and pleasant to stroll through. It added to the peaceful atmosphere, making it a nice escape from the usual hustle and bustle of the city. Practical amenities were in place too, including toilets for visitors, which is always a plus.

Overall, I’m glad I finally stopped by. It was a refreshing little detour, and I can see why it’s a popular spot for families and animal lovers alike.

It wasn't very busy. It's ok for young children. Our children enjoyed seeing the sheep, 1 pig, 1 donkey, a few goats, Polish chickens, and some beautifully coloured ducks. It was a good day. However, the area is pretty run down, not many shops opened around the time we went (11.30), it took some time to find a corner shop so bring snacks if you're popping down. There's a small park with swings and slides opposite the farm where children can play.

Nothing beats meeting animals up close like at Hackney City Farm. A wide assortment of farmyard critters like, goats(various sizes), chickens, hens, roosters? ducks, geese, pigs. Sheep, pheasants, etc. All calm and interesting( some even talk to you). A nice cafe, wholefood shop, and real smells. Recommended. 12 minute walk from Hoxton overground.

In love with this amazing city farm, the piglets were two weeks old when we visited and the goats and donkeys are the cutest. A gem in the city and such a vibrant place now spring is coming, recommend it for kids of all ages (from 2 to 100+) 😁

Cute, quick visit

My child loved seeing all the animals and taking pictures. It feels secluded there despite being next to a huge luxury flats complex (ahh London). There's a cafe I believe near the entrance and a shop selling what looked like hand made goodies (wasn't particularly paying attention). There's also a parking space for buggies. We enjoyed our visit and will be back.

Every worker we ran into was friendly.
Short walk from Cambridge Heath, about 7 minutes or so. Or you could catch the bus from Cambridge heath, 2 -3 minutes. I say walk take in the local shops and stop off at MAMA Shelter. Support all the local businesses.

The sheeps were the cutest!!! They also had the most adorable lambs. The donkey was so cute and fluffy. They had goats, chickens, and pigs there, too. Overall, it's a really lovely experience, and I'd definitely recommend
