A classic butcher in the heart of Newbury. This is a real traditional butchers offering fresh cuts as well as game meats. The produce is perfect whether it be for a Sunday roast or a steak night. One of the best butchers I’ve ever visited and hopefully you’ll love it too.

Can do some good stuff but have been sold the rubbish stuff a few times now. You need to treat those wise guys as magicians. Never buy beef there anymore, just pork related goods.
What you see on display is not what ends up in your bag. Here's an example photo from today. I added a Cornish Pasty to my shop but I wasn't given one from those displayed. It was already in a paper bag behind the scenes and realised when I got home they'd palmed me off with a duff one!

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this butcher shop. I started my conversation with a polite “Excuse me,” one of the guys gave me a rude, moody look and snapped, “Not ‘excuse me’—I’ll excuse you. Are you looking, or do you want to buy?” I asked for a specific type of meat, and the two guys looked at each other, joked for a bit and pointed at the chicken(not what I was looking for). What stood out even more was how their behaviour changed when serving British customers—they were noticeably more polite and professional.
Their attitude towards me was unprofessional, disrespectful, and made me feel as though they were being outright discriminatory. If there’s an option for zero star, I would have chosen that.
I’m sure they serve good quality meat, but they need to learn to treat all customers with the same level of respect and professionalism, regardless of who they are or their background.

Not a good experience. Went to get a steak for my son, but the butchers did not behave in a good way towards us. To make my point, my voice might have been a bit raised. However, this guy had been acting rudely with my son from the beginning. Also found out that the eggs sold here were expensive compared to Hilliers garden centre. The same egg in the garden centre is £1.99 where as here it was £2.40. I am never going to this butcher ever. I will go to a farm butcher. It might be a little further. However, they have better ratings, and most of my friends go there.

Very clean and well spoken. Easy to communicate and understand the deals and value on offer.
Also they go above and provide cuts not displayed on their website or in the shop front such as pig cheek for example.
Value compared to supermarkets is remarkable.

Proper old school family butchers in heart of Newbury near to hump back bridge. They produce a vast range of products including pies, uncooked meat, sausages and marinated options. Their mince in particular is very good and is worth buying in bulk, dividing up and then freezing. We live east of Reading and if visiting Newbury we make sure we pop into this butchers.
