Visited today, as I usually do for pet food, but today I needed guidance about glue for securing thin cable to UPVC. I had done my homework beforehand but needed confirmation of what I had selected and yes, the advice given was spot on. Cleaning the cable of its greasiness was an excellent tip.

Thank you.

Mrs M can’t even see where it is, and it has stuck superbly. The photo can’t even see it I reckon?

That’s what sets this place apart from internet and big brand vendors as it’s not simply a showcase for items.

The knowledge, advice and helpfulness is worth the drive.

Wasted trip due to staff incompetence.
I called to check if they had a particular product. The guy who answered (I think Matt) did not bother to listen which resulted in a wasted trip. Previous experiences have been far better but the prices are high and the prices advertised in the store are without VAT!

Fantastic. A true Aladdin's cave. The staff are excellent and I must mention in particular James. He is professional, polite and so helpful, a credit to the business. The store itself is packed full of all sorts of goodies and an excellent place for tools, paint and other materials. Highly recommended.

This is a very useful local shop but my goodness, do not buy a broom handle from them! In the traditional way of securing a broom-head on the handle, I held it upside down and tapped the handle end firmly on the concrete ground. Instead of anchoring the broom-head on the handle, the handle de-laminated. Yes, it is a laminted handle, made of 2mm ish flat layers. First, there was no visible labelling to say so and second, it is simply not fit for purpose if it breaks down so readily. I also spotted many delaminations along its length. I was disappointed enough when I thought they were cracks, but it is utterly useless and makes me question the credentials of the GNHQ buyer to think that they considered such a composition for a broom handle sensible. Very, very disappointing and I shall scrutinise all future purchases much more carefully. I am normally prepared to pay their price premium for local convenience, but not for unfit products.

Exceptional range and excellent value in very well stocked shop with helpful staff always on hand. Fantastic addition to the local area and a business with real traditional values and standards. Highly recommended for anything from a nut and bolt through to high end tools and equipment for trade, DIY or anyone needing to pop in for the odd bit.

Love this place, it's a great place for all your ironmongery and more. The staff are very friendly and very helpful, their range of product is immense and if they don't have it they bend over backwards to try and get it. 😉
