Brilliant place to be. Our initial thought was to visit for a good experience for accompanying kiddo but it seems this was even more fun for the adults. We missed our initial slot but Rob and management were very kind to let us have our desired experience, thank you once again. For us experience, we met fully and cheeky Chinchilla, Guinea pig, couple of breaded dragons and a skunk. To our surprise, Skunks are really friendly and very very adorable creatures, and if you are a cat person it will be very easy for you to connect to a skunk and appreciate of their love and affection. Rob is very passionate about animals, posses vast knowledge and happy to provide answers to any questions you may have. Thank you one again for the experience.

A small but well run place where you could see all the animals in 30 mins. Its more about the experience of meeting and interacting with the animals which the staff take great care and time with you doing. We did a furry package, cuddle a skunk and meet a chameleon. We were really impressed with the teams work on ensuring you had a successful experience, we never felt rushed and my daughter really enjoyed meeting and cuddling/stroking/holding all the animals she chose. They were all well working d after and you felt their health and happiness was paramount. Parking can get busy but you can park in the Miller and Carter car park 100m down the road. Worth a visit if you have an experience you want to enjoy.

Honestly, we had the best time here today! Perfect for all ages (we are 40,20, 9 & 4).
Did the 1 hour handling show experience, and it was just wonderful! We held and met 9 different animals ❤️ and learnt so much about them.
The staff are excellent and so knowledgeable.
All of the animals at the zoo are rehomed/rescued pets, even the alligator!! And you can tell how well loved and cared for each of them are by their inquisitive temperaments.
First time for us to see a few of the species, skunks being the most unexpected.
We will definitely be returning and doing more handling experiences.

I took my granddaughter here at half term as she desperately wanted to hold a snake 🫣
That she did 🐍 4 in total, along with lots of other creatures.
We had a fantastic afternoon. Lots to see and lots to learn about.
Excellent value and well looked after animals. Staff were all very friendly and were there to answer any questions the kiddies had.
Highly recommend this place for a little outting.

Such a lovely place. Great please to bring kids, the staff are most helpful and nice. They also have fish and a variety of species, including some noisy birds but some very friendly too.

We had an absolutely fantastic day out at Get To Know Animals, for our daughter’s birthday treat.

The place is small but absolutely packed full of incredible animals, who are all clearly well looked after. You can really get up close and personal with the animals even without having to pay for any of the handling experiences.

That being said, I would highly recommend the handling experiences! There are so many options to choose from, and they are really reasonably priced. You get lots of 1-1 time with the animals, and the handlers are fantastic and so friendly and knowledgeable. The birthday girl handled two small snakes (she is snake obsessed) and her sister had an amazing cuddle with Goose the skunk.

Overall this place is a hidden gem - it’s a wonderful afternoon out getting to see so many animals up close, and the staff are super friendly. Definitely worth a visit! We’ll be back for sure.

We booked an animal handling experience here for our 11yr old daughter. After an unfortunate wobbly start with no record of our booking the visit just got better and better.

The animals appeared to be well looked after with all enclosures clean and well maintained.

Kylie, our guide, was an absolute star. She was so passionate and friendly and made a real impression on our animal-loving daughter.
Her favourite was the crested gecko. Mine was Goose the skunk.

We got to handle so many different animals with absolutely no rush or pressure and Kylie had so much knowledge about all of them. She even gave our daughter a shed snakeskin as a souvenir.

The animals were amazing but the real star of the show was Kylie. She clearly loves her job and it made a great experience extra special.
We will definitely be back.
