Great customer service, went above & beyond to fix the problem with my Ford van transit key fob , have for many years used them for security & keys , great service

Gem Security came and inspected our doors (both an automatic ones and a manual ones). They informed us that the internal power supply for one of the auto doors had failed and needed replacing. They quoted us £549.78 for the part alone + £400 labour.

I couldn't believe a power supply would cost that much. So I asked for a quote from another local auto door installer, who didn't think the power supply needed replacing. He came and checked. He only replaced one of the cables and everything was working. He also only spent about 20 mins adjusting our manual doors and got them fixed (whereas Gem Security quoted us 5.5 labour hours for this).

It shows that Gem Security was either completely incompetent or dishonest (I would say it was the latter given the amount they quoted for the manual doors). We, as a consumer, have to rely on them and trust them for their diagnoses. We would have paid £1,300 more unnecessarily to Gem Security if we went for their quote. If they were in the medical profession, they would have been struck off from the medial register for this. So stay away from this company at all cost!!

Needed to barrell for lock on my front door went to gemsec and got one, came home but it wouldn't fit eventho it was right size. The guy that worked there was really lovely and as I lived nearby he came round to check the lock, we had to get different size in the end but he sent his colleague Euen back who fitted the new one for me. Very happy with service would definitely use them again!!

It’s a Friday afternoon and my key broke in the lock of my motorbike ignition after filling up with petrol, I was stuck for a while but then remembered Gemsec were just around the corner so I pushed it there. The guys there all had a go to get it out and it took an hour or so and they finally did it! They were then able to make a new key and really did save me a lot of hassle and money. They went absolutely above and beyond to help me out. Thanks so much to Ewan and everyone there in my hour of need 👍🏻

Had a recent nightmare as the lock barrel in the fuel cap on my campervan started spinning and coming loose, meaning I couldn't opennit, fill up at all, and couldn't drive it anywhere to get fixed (no fuel!).
Having sourced a new fuel cap, I was recommended these guys and honestly they patiently went through the issue, gave great advice and when I managed to bring the lock to the were able to sort it all out for me.
Kind, patient and practical, saved my day - thanks so much guys!!

Had a key cut and programmed for my car by this company, they really did a cracking job at a very reasonable price too. Heads up to Stuart and Ewan(not sure spelling) both brilliant blokes, would recommend Gemsec security for key cutting, programming etc.
