Excellent camp site and incredibly kind host, Sarah, who evacuated us from our tent in a gale when ours broke. She went above and beyond in making sure we have somewhere comfortable to stay and was just the perfect hostess. The area is beautiful and having fresh coffee and Cornish pasties every day was just magical - utterly delicious!

A very clean and well kept camping place. We stayed one night, while walking the coast path. The showers and toilets are top. There is a fridge, but there is not a water cooker. At the camping there is a counter where they sell all sorts of vegetables and fruit. In the morning they also sell pasties.

The place is very calm and quite, in nice surroundings. It is a 45 to 60 minute walk from the Helford ferry location.

Such a lovely campsite. We stayed this weekend in a pre-pitched tent. It took all the hassle out of camping, leaving us to just enjoy all the fun. Sarah is a wonderful host and the campsite is quiet, friendly & spotlessly clean! We’ll be back! 🏕️ xx

Was recommended by a local, now living in Wales, to taste a Gear pasty, and like many others was told it’s the best one around. WELL, I was happily amazed how good the Steak pasty was. The steak is chunky and so soft it must be pre-braised, the pastry is light, the filling evenly proportioned and the whole pasty perfectly seasoned. Absolutely excellent value for money and the staff are super friendly. If you are near south Helston Cornwall it is well worth popping in. For somewhere slightly out on its own there was a queue, which tells its own story

Great place to stay. Clean well located facilities. The owner Sarah was amazingly helpful. I kayaked up the Helford and moored at the small quay at the bottom of Gear Hill. The pasty from over the road was brilliant too. Strongly recommended.

Delicious pasties. They are huge and reasonably priced. So good we went back twice during our weeks stay in Cornwall! We tried steak, cheese and the pork and apricot sausage roll and all were enjoyed by our family including our picky kids! Hope to return

An excellent little campsite situated above the Helford river pass - With good views and excellent facilities. Other smaller campsites in the region should look to Gear Farm as a case study for facilities done right - as well as ample toilets and showers, the services room boasted two fridge freezers & a small area to sit and charge your devices.

My partner and I backpacked the coast path from Roskilly's that day, with camping options very limited over the river, until you reach the edges of Falmouth. Gear's campsite is a little out of the way for backpackers, but with a Gear's pasty waiting it's fair compensation for walking all the uphill!

The walk from the Helford pass to Gear's wasn't ideal on foot - but for all those with a vehicle this campsite is perfect and in a brilliant spot, close enough to Helston that you can be back on a main road in near enough 5 minutes. Looking forward to camping here again in the future.

This is a wonderful camp site on the Lizard. There are 3 decent showers and 3 toilets with good quality loo roll - all well maintained with a couple of fridge freezers and a washing up area. Large and a limited number (18 I think) of well spaced pitches means it always feels spacious. Good views down the valley. The small pasty factory over the road is a must visit at some point (also sells coffee) and there is also a stall with fresh produce. The owner is friendly and also goes the extra mile to make sure everything goes smoothly. Best site have been to for years.
