AVOID THIS RETAILER. I ordered 100 mixed parrot tulips via ebay last Autumn (2024). When they flowered they were not mixed but all one colour - not what I had ordered. I took photos as evidence and mailed the seller via ebay, Facebook and directly via 2 different email addresses. I asked for either a refund or a replacement order this Autumn (2025). All messages and emails were ignored. Follow ups were ignored. I would never use this retailer again. Buyer beware. Customer Service is non-existent. Retailer claims no emails received. Resent to address on website plus address on voicemail at the time. This is regardless of ebay correspondence sent. Not too much to ask for a refund or substitute for goods as promised not delivered.

Tried since last week to get a response from this business. They won;t pick up the phone or answer emails. I bought three Cardiocrinum bulbs on April 22 for £44.97 and the order was confirmed. Today May 15, still no sign of the bulbs.

Like many on here and Trustpilot I have been disappointed by the quality of what I received. I bought 100 Ranunculus bulbs from a their ebay storefront bulb. When I received them, they looked in a very poor state – dried, disintegrating, dull, but I decided to give them a go. I planted them in accordance with guidance form all around the web which is to soak and then plant in autumn and put in a cold frame. The bible of planting, Royal Horticulture Society(RHS) confirms it.
Out of the 100 bulbs I planted, only two weak ones sprouted at all. I contacted Garthwaite nurseries and like many disappointed people on Trustpilot, got short shrift from them deflecting any responsibility saying “its still early from them” – not true. The two that sprouted did so 2 weeks ago and then they claimed “not in a cold frame, they need frost & cold”. Firstly everyone says in a cold frame, including RHS, plus a cold frame is cold – they have been outside all winter. I asked for a replacent or refund which they ignored.

Ordered a 5kg box of daffodils. Got an email it had been dispatched. Never received only to get a card from Royal Mail that I had to
Pay a surcharge because inadequate postage had been purchased. Sent over email stating same with evidence. Had no reply. Called the nursery, same thing no reply. Won’t use this company again as I am out of pocket.

appalling customer service . they refuse to refund or replace the dead plant i received that is not as described and did not ever grow or thrive . i have read reviews stating they sell dead rather than dormant bulbs.
they call customers liars, trolls and scammers. see images of my plants purchased and proof of purchase via ebay as this seller is denying people who are customers. i will not use them again and i have now seen countless bad reviews on facebook , google and also ebay marketplaces

Absolutely appalling customer service, ordered a selection of Hostas through on buy, notified by them that the order is on its way, nothing emailed Garthwaite no response at all. It takes 2 minutes to send an email apologising must have been lost in post or whatever but no. Would I buy again never there are plenty of other nurseries that offer a good service, the only reason I ordered these was because there was one variety in the collection I wanted.

I was really happy with my experience at Garthwaite nursery. They had the roses I wanted, and the mixed trays of basket plants look amazing now. The owner was very knowledgeable and helpful even though he was running late for an appointment.
It is like Aladdin’s cave.

My daughter bought me an amaryllis apple blossom bulb last Christmas. The flowers were stunning and the repeat flowering was equally impressive. It was sturdy and didn't need staking. I'll be buying another this year.
