They consistently deliver high-quality coffee and delicious food. There is always queue to order; doesn’t matter day or time of the day but you usually find sitting relatively easily. The staff, especially Funda, is so warm and friendly despite that crowd and business.

Hands down the best coffee. Consistently great. Gail’s has such a good operating model and they work so hard to ensure your coffee will taste the same at each branch. Such a warm welcome every morning. Great team at Loughton nothing is too much trouble. I have to give a huge shout out to Lisa she is a superstar. Lucky to have this place on my doorstep

All the positive 4 and 5 star reviews I've read coincide with my experience -- great pastries, including good selection of veggie temptations, excellent (decaf) coffee (can be tasteless in other cafes), friendly and supportive staff, always busy whenever we've called in, but can be a tad noisy and crowded around lunchtime -- which proves their ongoing popularity and success. The best café in Loughton!

Gale's Bakery offers a decent selection of pastries and baked goods. The quality is good, though not exceptional. The atmosphere is pleasant, but it can get a bit crowded during peak hours. The staff is friendly and efficient, but the service can sometimes be a bit slow. Overall, it's a solid choice for a quick treat or a casual outing, but don't expect anything out of the ordinary.

Walking past, early December, Brunchtime, Tuesday, Smoked Turkey Sandwich sign outside. Why not?

Popped in here for the Turkey and a coffee. Place was full of Mums "wot" lunch and laptop-people (where a single coffee can be made to last about four hours) - three separate groups around me seemingly talking about Public Relations and Marketing Campaigns.

Once upon a time cash was king - here, they can't even be bothered to accept it as payment, they're still using Covid as an excuse.

Local annoyances aside, the Sandwich was deep-filled, deliciously smokey (and jammy) and the latte; hot, frothy marvellousness.

I absolutely love starting my mornings at Gail's! The coffee is always fantastic, but what truly makes my day are the two amazing baristas,
Guiperi and Allen.
They’re incredibly friendly, warm, and always greet me with a smile. Their positive energy brightens my mornings, and their excellent service is unmatched. Thank you both for making my daily coffee run such a joyful experience!
