As a Bristol wedding photographer, I’ve had the privilege of working at many beautiful venues, but Folly Farm near Bristol is undoubtedly one of my absolute favorites.

The setting is absolutely stunning and perfect for relaxed, informal weddings. What really stands out, though, is their eco approach, which I absolutely love. It's fantastic knowing that every wedding here helps support the nature reserve!

I wish I knew about this venue before I got married as I would definitely have chosen it! Not only is the setting amazing and such a good place for informal, chilled out weddings, their eco-conscious approach is also amazing and I love that every wedding supports the nature reserve. Highly, highly recommend!

We got married at Folly Farm in August 2024, having found them from a search along the lines of "eco organic outdoor wedding". Folly Farm delivered on that, along with wonderful staff and a fabulous venue.

Matt and Claire and the team are really lovely people who just want their couples to have a fabulous day, and that came through in the way they took every request in their stride, always with a smile. We found that the venue worked really well, - with the lovely flow from the dining/disco area, to the bar, and out to the courtyard with the amazing views meaning that guests could be in the areas they wanted to, and could move between them easily.

The food is fantastic, plentiful and great value. No one went hungry, and we had feedback that it was the "best wedding food ever". We opted for the sharing platters, - homemade bread, delicious lamb and local veggies (some grown on the farm itself). It's hearty, souful and friendly. Both the food and drink are really good value too.

There are about 20 rooms on site, which was great as many of our guests could stay on site (and some camped). They might be considered functional rather than luxurious by some, some of the guest bathrooms are slighly tired in places, and some of the rooms really need clothers rails (we brought our own in), but they were all clean and comfortable.

We we a little worried that if it was really wet and we couldn't use the wonderful outside space, it might have been a bit cramped for the 95 or so guests we had (including about 20 kids, who loved using the open space) but we were blessed with a warm sunny day, so didn't find that out.

We'd definitely recommend this venue to anyone who is looking for a chilled, eco concious, relaxed venue, with fantastic service and food.

Wow what a venue! we photographed our first wedding of 2024 here and it was just perfect. The couple were actually some close friends so we got to experience everything both as a guest and as a photographer.

Personal highlights include the connected nature of everything. Flow in a wedding day is really important to us, and that everything is close by, guests can stay on site and that the surroundings are stunning just made for the best day.

Folly Farm was the perfect place to host our wedding. We used all 20 rooms on site to host our extended family. We went on group walks into the nature reserve, played summer games on the lawn, and hosted an acoustic open mic in the orchard.
The staff at Folly Farm were helpful and available, especially on the wedding day, when they provided a calming and assuring presence which helped everything to run smoothly.
The food was also amazing and plentiful! The garden to the rear of the centre is where they grow some of their produce as well- which we loved.
Being right on the doorstep of nature was exactly what we wanted, and Folly Farm certainly delivered.
As you'd expect of a nature reserve/retreat centre the bedrooms were functional rather than decorative, but we knew this going in. We wanted quality time with family over a "luxurious" feeling space. Folly Farm offers a lot of options to personalise your event, and we really loved this aspect. We wouldn't have chosen any differently, thank you Clare and Team!

We photographed our last wedding of the 2023 season at Folly Farm. It was a beautiful venue and a pleasure to work there. Our couple had their ceremony at a nearby church so we were at Folly Farm a little in the morning and then following the ceremony.

The space there is amazing, and we felt so well looked after by all the staff.

We are back at Folly Farm this year for a full wedding and we can’t wait.

We would happily recommend this venue to any couples looking for their wedding venue.

We had our wedding at Folly last week. What an incredibly beautiful place. The wedding was faultless. Clare and the team where absolutely amazing from start to finish. I am a parent of a SEN child, they were nothing but excellent with supporting him during our stay and going the extra mile. We have had a truly amazing experience and would recommend Folly 100%. I was lucky enough to photograph a wedding at the lovely Folly Farm last autumn and I have to say it was a stunning venue and the staff were brilliant throughout. They were flexible with the couple up to the last minute decision on an outdoor ceremony. It was October but they almost got away with an outdoor ceremony!! Instead after a quick change to plan b the barn was set up and looking beautiful as if it had been the first choice all along!

The food was great and they made us, as suppliers, feel welcome throughout which always makes the experience so much more enjoyable!

It was a pleasure to photograph there and I hope to be back photographing another wedding soon!
