We are mid-way through a short break at Fernyford Barn and I think this is a truly awesome holiday cottage/converted barn. The quality of the accommodation is absolutely top notch and spotlessly clean, tidy and spacious. From the stone flooring to the oak fittings and furniture, this really is a high quality conversion. Perfect for adults or families. We brought our one year old and there are toys and books available as well as a play mat, cot, high chair and baby bath. If you don’t need the toys, everything is well organised and you won’t stumble across them. The kitchen is again high quality and very well equipped, the beds are comfy and there is plenty of hot water. Neil and Dorota are lovely hosts and it has been a pleasure to meet them. We will be taking advantage of the opportunity to buy some products from the farm before we leave. Highly recommend a stay here at Fernyford!

New Year Family Retreat.
We stayed here over the new year period with our two children aged 6 and 2 and had a fantastic time. The barn is so warm and comfortable, fantastic power shower, good wifi connection, perfect location for exploring the lovely Buxton. The farm itself is fantastic, a well run and clearly well loved family business. Welcoming friendly lovely hosts. We hope to be returning in the summer.

We've just returned from our fourth visit to Fernyford Farm. We will also be booking another return visit in the near future! Having stayed in many cottages in the Peak District, this is now a firm favourite with us.

The cottage is wonderful - very well equipped with everything you'll need, spotlessly clean and furnished to a very high standard indeed. Little touches like a normal sized hair dryer rather than a travel one make a real difference. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need for proper cooking which is often not the case with holiday rentals (and plenty of everything too so you're not constantly washing up!). Upstairs, the beds are super comfy and the shower is wonderful too!

There is also always a pint of milk on plenty of tea and coffee on arrival ensuring you can get on with enjoying your break straight away.

Dorota and Neil are wonderful hosts, providing a really warm welcome to you as guests on their farm. They are more than happy to take time out of their busy days to talk about farming and have been wonderful at helping our 2 boys to understand a bit more about farm life. The location of the cottage is perfect for exploring the Peak District - within easy reach of both Leek and Buxton but maintaining that feeling of really being out in the heart of the countryside.

Overall, throughout all 4 of our visits so far, we have not yet found anything to complain about at Fernyford! Well worth a visit!

Fernyford is one of those five star stays that you get to experience once in a long while. Approached via a long gravel driveway, the converted barn is modern and sympathetically renovated to a very high standard, with every mod con that you could want. The underfloor heating ensures that you are always warm and cosy, while the shower (rainfall shower and hand held) are remarkably luxurious. The upstairs rooms are cosy with comfortable beds, while the kitchen is large and spacious - and this extends to the generously sized dining room / sitting area. There is a small but cosy study desk to do work on, if you so wish. Tons of stuff for the littler ones as well.Neil and Dorota are geninely warm and friendly, and it appears there are farm produce available to purchase (though we didn't know this before we arrived). A really enjoyable stay.

Could not believe what an amazing place this is, absolutely superb !! Cottage was Immaculate, spotlessly clean, well equipped & finished to a very high standard. Perfect location, close to everything we wanted to see but in a calm & peaceful location. I could have sat on the patio for hours in the evening just listening to the sheep !! Neil & Dorota were so helpful & welcoming and are genuinely lovely people, the family clearly put a lot of work & love into the farm & the cottage & it really shows.
Brilliant for families, our girls loved the play area with the best zip wire ever & the tour of the farm, meeting the sheep, cows, friendly working dogs, seeing red deer & making friends with Sparkle, the farm cat was a great experience for them & one they thoroughly enjoyed.
We all felt completely relaxed & de-stressed & can't wait to come back again.

Fernyford barn is a superb place in so many respects. My brother and I stayed here for 4 nights in October and had a lovely, relaxing stay. As soon as we approached Fernyford we knew it was special. The barn is set in gorgeous countryside and is part of a working farm. We were warmly welcomed by the owner, Dorota and she informed us that she was available if we had any issues. We didn`t as the place was great! The barn itself was immaculate-I have never stayed in such a spotlessly clean place. It was beautifully renovated-and there is a photobook detailing the restoration from a barn to a holiday cottage. The fixtures and furnishings were of a high standard and very comfortable. The lounge is comfy and has a large screen TV which we enjoyed watching at night. There were a selcection of DVDs, books and games alongside leaflets about local attractions and an OS map. Wifi is available. We loved watching the sheep from the lounge window-as where they graze comes right down to the window and they sometimes peered in at us! The kitchen is great-fully equipped and we cooked in it every morning and evening-everything we needed was available. There are extra freezer facilities upon request. We had done our own shopping in Aldi in Bakewell, but we wish we had waited as produce is available to purchase from the farm. There is a good sized dining area in between the kitchen and lounge. The 2 bedrooms were of a good size-the best views being from the twin room-it overlooked the back garden and beyond. The beds were so comfy-the mattresses were memory foam and we slept like logs! It is also very peaceful at night. The shower was great-hot and really stylish! The location was great to visit all the attractions we wanted to-we went to Chatsworth, Buxton, Bakewell and the Monsal trail. The nearby villages were so pretty and we found a couple of good nearby pubs! I highly recommend this place for a relaxing and perfect stay.

Been meaning to write this for ages but life gets in the way.
My partner and i with our little 1year old girl stayed at the barn in November 2017 and had such a relaxed and most enjoyable time. Both Neil & Dorota made us feel very welcome into their surroundings. The farm is fantastic and the barn has been done beautifully. It has everything a family needs and we loved it. Neil was great with our little lady and showed her the many sheep they look after and dare i say we actually got to try one.... Yum!
The farm reared Lamb chops we purchased from Neil were the best we have ever tasted.
Dont hesitate to book this place if you can.
So peaceful and such nice people.
