The positives are;
Small, quiet relaxing site
Late check out (12:30) which is fantastic for a lie in.
Good for couples & famillies with older chldren
Electric hook up, water and recycling facilities on site

You can hire fire pits etc and good local village within 5 minutes drive / half hour walk.
Potentially a good base for exploring Kent, Essex and Sussex

Negatives
Toilet / shower facilities really need changing - shower cubicles are tiny - had to shower then get dressed in the van - this was problematic with a 3 year old
1 male and 1 female shower
The reviews we read ondicated that facilities were great.

No accessible facilities and the steps if not the whole portacabin feel un even or rotten and ready for replacement

Lots of wasps on site more so than the others than on this trip.

We were charged extra for an awning despite it stating free awning included

Reason for the 3☆ review is the facilities dont meet the price £31 with awning add on.

We had a last minute weekend stay at Far Acre, 4 adults and 4 children, just wanting a very quiet weekend camp together!

Jennie was helpful from the start, literally as we arrived the rain came down, but she happily showed us to our pitch. Thankfully the rain didn't last long, we got set up, two tents plus an event shelter and relaxed!

It's not a big site, and we were really pleased to see that Jennie & Alex restrict numbers there, rather than cramming in as many people as possible! Jennie came round later in the evening to make sure we were OK and again in the morning with eggs... which were the best I've tasted!

The site facilities are limited to a small cabin with male and female toilets, plus a shower in each. A small washing up area was next to the block, with recycling and rubbish disposal, plus a chemical toilet emptying point.

Some of the pitches have electrical hookup - not ours for the weekend though.

On the Saturday evening Jennie came round with fire-wood for us (cheap compared to a lot of other camp sites we have been to), asked us how our stay was, and told us she wouldn't be around in the morning as she was out at a farmers market. In the morning we did have a visit from her daughter asking if everything as OK, a really nice touch!

All in all it was just what we were looking for, and will most definitely be back!

Steve.

AVOID. AVOID! The owners are unwelcoming, overbearing, paranoid and rude. They clearly dislike children. There are many campsites in Marden and the surrounding area so I would avoid Far Acre Farm. It’s located very close to the main road so there’s a significant amount of road noise. It’s also worth noting there’s one shower, one/two toilet cubicles and two sinks each side. The facilities are very old and small.

We are a group of three families with a mix of children who regularly camp. We’re always respectful of camp sites, other campers and never play music or engage in any activity that would be considered loud, boisterous or anti-social.

On our first evening the children found some dead branches and started to setup a very small makeshift den on our pitch. The owners abruptly confiscated all of this and were unfriendly to the children, marching off our pitch with the armful of branches, clearly unhappy. Not soon after (early evening) we were interrupted to remind us of the camp’s policy about noise after 23:00 which we’re aware of and intended to respect. The owner even shouted at our children, to listen to her lecture. At this point we were all seated and cooking on a BBQ, chatting around the fire pit with no music or any loud behaviour. Later, around 22:30, we were again interrupted from the shadows by the owner’s husband who didn’t introduce himself and reminded us of the 23:00 curfew. It seems they walked around the whole camp doing this. We politely questioned if our behaviour and noise at that moment, which was perfectly normal (chatting around a fire pit and BBQ), was unacceptable. The husband launched into a lecture which was quite remarkable and totally unnecessary. Then at 23:05 the owner reappeared to single out one of the adults as an ‘antagonist’ for daring to ask the earlier question. They went onto complain that our children needed to settle down because they were quietly talking in their sleeping bags! The owner raised her voice and twice shouted at one of our group for pointing out that SHE was being antagonistic, overbearing and ironically the loudest person on the entire camp site. One of the group was rudely requested to leave the next morning. During this, our group remained seated and said almost nothing. We requested to talk in the morning but that was refused. We warned her we would all have to leave but that did not deter her.

At that point we were happy to comply and quite honestly, we couldn’t face another evening of the overbearing owner constantly interrupting and watching.

They owe us a refund for the one night’s stay and are refusing to reimburse us despite the inconvenience this has caused. They are saying they asked only one person of the group of six adults to leave which is farce especially since we warned them this meant the whole group would go.

No doubt the owner will leave a reply and possibly complain that we were a large rowdy group but this is honestly not the case. We are all normal respectful families who regularly camp and have never had any problems before.

We spent the following night at Tanner Park farm, one mile away, which was a much more professional and pleasant camp site. Tanner Park farm and other campers could not believe the way we had been treated.

What a fantastic time we had at Far Acre, the setting is beautiful and the owner was an extremely friendly, helpful person and nothing was ever an issue from asking for more wood and enjoying the lovely eggs from the farm. We would highly recommend this campsite to friends and family with or without children. The site is quite and washroom facilities were always kept clean to a high standard. The bonus is the wine from the vineyard is amazing and we got through several bottles celebrating a 40th birthday.
Can't wait to return, thank you for a great weekend.

What a lovely rustic no fuss campsite. Stayed here in very hot few days in August with my daughter so that we cd visit my mum. We loved the fact that Jennie was not ‘cashing in’ on other campsites being closed and cramming as many people in as possible. Her ethics to ensure a smaller number of campers had plenty of space was very welcome. It was also reassuring that security measures were in place at the gate so no worries about unwanted visitors at night and peace of mind when out for the day. Other likeminded campers were just having a relaxing time and all was quiet after 10.30. Jennie was delightful, welcoming and very helpful - my daughter was recovering from a back injury and she was always asking after her welfare. A perfect place for peace and space, thank you Jennie x
