I would have liked to resolve this over the phone however despite calling over and over no one answers the phone at this company unless you go through to make a new booking -at which case they say they haven't got time to speak to you and will call you another time.
We booked faremovals as they quoted us £285 for 3 hours of work. I spoke to sabrina via email and on the phone who seemed nice and polite. I asked her if we needed a surveyor as we have lots of stuff and was told.it wasn't necessary. We were told our team would arrive between 9 and 10.30 and they arrived at 10.30 on the dot.
Myself and my partner had moved all our boxes, tvs, photo frames etc out onto the front garden and we asked the 2 guys to prioritise the heavy goods first as the boxes could have been done via several trips in my large car. And thank god for that car really!
The team didn't have any equipment to transport items such as the fridge they decided to carry/drag in though the house instead, ripping the floor.These guys were extremely slow..to the point where myself and 7 other people, including neighbours- all asked each other what was happening. It took them team almost 3 hours to load the 1st lot of items in the van.One of the guys spent alot of time wandering between the boxes picking up various items such as photo frames and then putting them back down.
During this time the new tenants arrived with thier removal company which consisted of a smaller set man and a 18 year old apprentice who it turned out, was on his 1st day. The other removal team unloaded this 1st load, drove back to the other house, loaded the van again and came.back and unloaded everything into the house to complete thier job in the same.time.frame.it took FA removals to load up.one van load.
Now I don't have any issues with paying extra if it's needed as we fully expected to need to pay for 1 more hour if necessary. But I received a phone call from Bree in the office to say she had spoken to the team and they were going to need another 3 hours and that I needed to pay another 285 to cover this. I do not expect the removal.men to run around and over do it at all but there is no way they should have needed another 3 hours. The whole house should have been done in 4 hours maximum . And the other company for the new tenant was done in 3 hours with similar items .
I agreed to pay 1.5 hours just so I could get the rest of the heavy items sorted but by this point my partner had driven back and forth in my car loading boxes several times and they had only just started unloading . I decided to help unload the van to speed things up and was carrying heavy items of furniture and boxes by myself faster then the 2 men I had hired. I told the guys to put everything in the living room, again to speed things up and they ignored me and were carrying random items to random.rooms
At one point I had parts of the same bed in 2 bedrooms the living room.and the garden!!!!
One of the guys scraped his leg(no blood) on the tail lift and for the last hour walked around with one trouser leg rolled up. Stopping to inspect his leg after each box.
At this point I told them to just empty the van and leave everything on the drive way and just to go as the 1.5 hours extra was up. I told the guys they could go and we would do the rest and they asked me where the nearest macdonalds was as they hadn't even had breakfast yet.... this was at 3pm ....
To sum.up the removal men acted as if they were on a slow down on purpose. They had no willingness to get the job done and made it very clear they didn't want to be there. They added more stress into the move then was necessary and we wasted alot of money paying this company to take the stress out of the move and it added more stress in then iv ever had .
Edit- owners reply is rubbish- I had no choice but to accept to get the move completed and at no point did i say otger company had less items they had similar amounts. I called over and over on my number and was ignored and still am.being ignored. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! COWBOYS!
