Operating primarily as a honey farm, the company is deeply rooted in the English countryside, specifically drawing inspiration from the rich biodiversity of the nearby Epping Forest. This connection to nature is not just a label but a core principle that guides their entire operation, from beekeeping practices to the final product they offer consumers.

\n\n

Our Location: Nestled in the Heart of Buckhurst Hill

\n

Epping Forest Honey Co. is based at 108 Palmerston Rd, Buckhurst Hill IG9 5LG, United Kingdom. Buckhurst Hill, a historic market town, provides a stable and accessible base for a business intrinsically linked to the surrounding green spaces. While the company's name evokes the ancient Epping Forest, their operational reach extends to ensure they can source the finest nectar for their products. The farm's presence in Buckhurst Hill places them within the easily accessible commuter belt around London, making their products available to both local residents and those further afield seeking genuine, locally-inspired honey varieties.

\n\n

Specialties: The Art of Beekeeping and Honey Production

\n

The primary specialty of Epping Forest Honey Co. is, without a doubt, honey. They are dedicated beekeeping experts who produce a range of high-quality honey products derived from various floral sources. While they might specialize in certain types based on regional availability and seasonal blooms, their commitment is to offering pure, natural honey harvested from the UK's countryside. This focus on honey farm operations means they have direct control over their supply chain, from the health of their hives to the extraction and packaging of the golden nectar. Beyond just honey, they might also offer beekeeping supplies, educational resources, or even workshops for enthusiasts. Their expertise is particularly noted in mentoring new beekeepers, as reflected in customer feedback.

\n\n

Diverse Honey Offerings

\n

While the core product is honey, a reputable farm like Epping Forest Honey Co. often explores the nuances of their craft. Customers might find varieties such as:
\n

    \n

  • Linden Honey: Known for its light colour and mild flavour.
  • \n

  • Buckwheat Honey: A darker, richer honey favoured for its robust taste.
  • \n

  • Other Floral Honey: Depending on the season and location, they might offer honey from clover, heather, or other wildflowers, each with its unique profile.
  • \n

\nThis variety ensures that consumers can choose based on flavour preference, intended use (e.g., drizzling, baking, tea), or support for specific local flora.

\n\n

Customer Experience and Reputation

\n

Word-of-mouth and online reviews are powerful indicators of a business's success, and Epping Forest Honey Co. appears to be highly regarded. They currently boast a significant presence on Google My Business, with 18 reviews consistently praising their products and services. Expert Beekeeping Mentorship

\n

One recurring theme in the positive feedback is the expertise of the individuals involved, notably Robin. Customers frequently commend Robin's knowledge and approachability. As one review highlights: \"My best experience in Beekeeping and getting to know Robin. I got a Nuc Colony and changeover went like clockwork. He will be my best mentor ever and I know he will assist any day.\" This indicates that Epping Forest Honey Co. likely offers not just products, but also support and education. This mentorship aspect is a key differentiator, making them more than just a supplier but a community resource for beekeeping enthusiasts. Robin's reputation for smooth transactions (like the \"changeover\" mentioned) and ongoing assistance contributes significantly to the high satisfaction rates reflected in the average opinion.

\n\n

Product Quality and Freshness

\n

Multiple reviews mention the quality and condition of the products received. The emphasis on \"freshness\" or the quality of packaging (as hinted in one review mentioning a hive that hadn't \"warmed up\" yet but was soon to), combined with the expertise noted, suggests a commitment to delivering top-notch honey and beekeeping equipment. Customers seem to trust the quality, which is vital for repeat business and positive word-of-mouth. The fact that they handle nuc (nucleus colony) transfers with \"like clockwork\" efficiency speaks volumes about their operational reliability.

\n\n

Community Engagement and Trust

\n

High average ratings and numerous positive reviews in a localized service like beekeeping and honey sales indicate a strong element of community trust. Customers feel confident in the products they purchase and the advice they receive. This relationship building is crucial, especially in a specialized field like beekeeping where new starters rely heavily on guidance. The personal touch, evident in the feedback directed towards Robin, suggests a business that values its customers and fosters loyalty. My best experience in Beekeeping and getting to know Robin. I got a Nuc Colony and changeover went like clockwork. He will be my best mentor ever and I know he will assist any day. The hive has not warmed up at the time I took the photo but will soon start buzzing.
Thank you Robin.

I recently attended one of Robin and Katie's bee keeping experiences and cannot recommend it enough. You can tell that Robin and Katie are real enthusiasts. The experience started with a brief lecture about the bee hierarchy and history of honey collection. We were then taken to the hives where we identified Queens and had the opportunity to witness several waggle dances (think bee GPS). The experience concluded with being given a jar of honey. Robin also does a proper bee keeping course for people wishing to start having their own hives.

I was given a bee keeping experience as a Father's Day present
run by Robin and Katie.
They made us feel welcome and comfortable with their friendly professional manner making for a great day.
I accepted the complimentary jar of honey out of politeness
as i don’t like honey.
How wrong had I been – great taste and now reducing my sugar intake with the honey.

Four weeks later a pleasurable shopping trip to Buckhurst Hill meeting Mrs. Robin (charming lady) to purchase all three honey flavours.

Thank You

I wanted to start buying local honey for myself, as it helps with immunity against allergies within the area locale. I wasn’t too sure where to go, but after doing some research & coming across Epping Forest Honey, I figured I would give this honey a try.
Long story short ~ best honey I have ever tasted. I would 100, 100, 100% recommend the soft set honey. It’s heaven in a jar. Pure, raw, natural. The prices are definitely worth it too.

Robin is also a very pleasantly friendly & knowledgeable human. Will definitely be coming to Robin for all of my honey needs. 🍯

I had beekeeper taster session at Robin's Waltham Abbey site, a fascinating morning with friendly and knowledgeable tutors (Robin & Katie), a very helpful initial teaching session then lots of 'hands on' time with the hives, with helpful support all the way. All questions answered - nothing was too much trouble. All equipment provided - not stung once! And a jar of delicious honeyt as a take away: all in all, unbetable.
