Visiting from NYC, we found the ice cream truck next to the stellar Catbells hike. This is good quality ice cream by any standard and excellent for a mobile stand. We had fresh strawberry and a variation on the Jersey vanilla. Would recommend one scoop before hike and one at the finish.

English Lakes supplied me with a one off bulk order for my birthday party. Their customer service was fabulous (thank you Emma) they went out of their way to help me and we had all the vegan flavours and it is the best ice cream I've ever had. The raspberry sorbet was outstanding, so fresh. The vegan flavours are so
creative (Speculoos, Thunder and lightning, amazing) I highly recommend you try their ice cream, simply delicious.

Simply the best and creamiest ice-cream ever. Always a highlight of our holidays to see the signs where it’s sold! Thunder and Lightning is a huge hit in our family, especially as we can all enjoy it including my daughter with multiple allergies who has the delicious vegan version. Another favourite is Plum and Damson, as well as the classic Double Jersey we’ve all loved for years. Delighted to see it being sold in more outlets.

Met the owner of this company when I parked up beside him at the base of Catballs. He was interested in my car, then we both got talking about cars (he’s got some nice ones too!!), ended up having a real long chat. Top bloke. The day before that I also met one of the employees at the same spot, had a great chat with him too. All in all both very friendly and genuine fellas. I lived in London for years and the difference between North and South is real, people up here very different - in a good way! People just seem more salt of the Earth. Never mind the ice cream, I just really enjoyed getting to ‘meet the locals’. Only not mentioning your names so as to preserve their anonymity. Oh and of course, yea - the ice cream is genuinely very good. Anyway, S and T, pleasure meeting you both! Tim

My wife and I had just descended from Catbells to the lake side of the"hill?".
Got down to the road and found this Oasis in the desert!! An ice cream van selling proper ice cream, in lovely flavours making it difficult to chose which one
Raspberry pavlova did it for me?.And a Magnum for my wife. Stop it and buy one!!!

We didn't try the icecream here but at Bowness. Flavours we tried were Mint choc chip ,Cartmel sticky toffee pudding, Thunder and lightening, Death by chocolate, Raspberry ripple and Toffee fudge., we had a single waffle cone each time, such lovely flavours and creamy. The sticky toffee pudding was just delicious

Bought sticky toffee pudding and rhubarb and ginger both were very disappointing both flavourless . Tubs bought from Pioneer at£5.95 each not worth it. If your making a flavoured product surely your tasters should pick up on the blandness of these products 1/10
