I love the Edible Hexham initiative! Bits of municipal waste ground and what would otherwise be boring shrubs or basic town flowerbeds have been planted up with every herb, fruit and edible salad plant you can think of - for anybody who wants it. Yes, you can literally walk past and pick tiny alpine strawberries to eat, or harvest an armful of rainbow chard and whatever herbs you want fresh for your dinner, pick apples or raspberries, flowers and lettuce. It's beautiful, well-kept, carefully labelled so people can see what's what, and I wish every town and village did this!

A really good idea and brings interest to the vicinity! There were some hardy herbs growing and some strawberry plants! It’ll have more colours come spring!
