Living on the mainland, we didn’t start our wedding planning with the intention of getting married on the Isle of Wight, but I’m forever grateful that we did!

I first saw East Afton Farmhouse on the Hitched website and it was love at first sight. Set in the picturesque Freshwater countryside, the venue is stunning and felt like a destination wedding on our doorstep (no passport required!). The Farmhouse was decorated for Christmas too which just added to the magic ✨

This venue is adaptable to weddings of different styles, sizes, and budgets. We loved having the entire place to ourselves from Thursday to Monday. A single wedding day flies by so quickly, so stretching it over a weekend was perfect. Plenty of time to set up and pack down and spend time with our guests. There are also fantastic activities available at Tapnell Farm, their sister company, located a 2 minute drive down the road.

All of the staff were wonderful, friendly and helpful and an absolute credit to the venue. Special shout-outs to Jack and Vania who were amazing on the day ☺️

Chloe and Mel, the dynamic duo, coordinated everything. Chloe was happy to respond to my many emails in the months leading up to the wedding, and was super efficient with it too! She made sure every single question was answered clearly. Mel was by our side over the course of the wedding weekend, and nothing was too much trouble. She had everything under calm control and the day felt relaxed and smooth. These two work so well together, and are expert at what they do. Even as a chronic worrier I felt 100% confident that they had everything in hand. They are both so friendly and fun to work with too!

I couldn't find East Afton Piglets in Google maps. It's close to Tapnell farmhouse. We had stayed for one night at Piglets at Afton farmhouse. I am very happy and impressed with the property. We were the only people in Piglets farm. But it's really cute and nice quiet place in middle of the farm. They have pretty big bathroom plus toilet, each piglet has separate toilets. Nice ambience especially at sunset and night you can see amazing sky with sparkling stars. I am really happy with the stay would definitely recommend this place if looking for unique and different stay , something different from the usual hotels.

Absolutely PHENOMENAL!
We celebrated our wedding on 31.08.24 and it was more than we could have wished for. The venue is incredible and the number of comments we got from our guest about how amazing it was was overwhelming. But this whole heartedly comes from the passion and effort the team at East Afton put into every detail to help pull off the weekend - Chloe and Mel are the duo you didn’t know you needed when it comes to weddings! They treat your wedding like their own and from day one we felt in safe hands with every detail met in good time and friendly communication throughout the build up.
The selling point of getting the whole venue for the full weekend as a weekend wedding meant we got to spend as much time as possible with our friends and family for the same cost you can spend for just 24 hours on the mainland. (We travelled from the mainland to have our wedding here!)
I can’t recommend this place enough and can safely say the day wouldn’t have been what it was had we not got married here. X

When booking our wedding here we had no doubts about how amazing this venue would be, as we had seen soo many other wedding pics here. But what we didn’t realise was the 2 amazing ladies that came as part of the package!!
Chloe and Mel are truly a gift and our day wouldn’t have been what it was without all of their planning, hard work and dedication. They totally took the majority of the stress out of the planning.
Our wedding day could not have been any better and we truly have them to thank.
The venue was perfect, the farmhouse we stayed in for 2 nights was a dream and our guests enjoyed every minute of being able to be there with us. Our wedding meal was absolutely delicious thanks to Kevin and his team, we could go on and on…
We could not change 1 single thing about our day/few days spent there to make it any better and we feel truly blessed to say that.
We would recommend East Afton to anyone and everyone we possibly can and we’re still looking over our wedding pics with tears in our eyes remembering how incredible our wedding day was.
Thank you again to Chloe for being amazing and to Mel who was truly everything and more for us on the day. We’ll never be able to thank you enough for all that you did. We love you!!?

Amazing house and grounds, we absolutely loved our stay here. Handy location, with Tapnell Farm, Freshwater Bay and a Tesco only a few minutes drive.

Really nice wedding venue. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to get married on the Isle of Wight. The barn which was used for dinner was beautiful, the staff were all really friendly & professional and the lawn was perfect for the drinks reception and games.

Attended a wedding here recently, and I was super impressed. Perfect location, super attentive staff. It's absolutely brilliant.
It's just a shame that the ferry crossing to and from the mainland is so very expensive.
