Picked our girls up on 25th May, eating out of my hand by day 10 and our first egg on day 11.
Would highly recommend Durham Hens the hens are in fantastic condition and as you can see once settled are quick to want to make friends with you ?
We also did the course they do which was really informative and helpful.

Bought 6 crested rock hens at point of lay at the weekend, service was straightforward easy and great, birds were ready on arrival and the man we spoke to (sorry I didn't catch a name!) Was lovely and informative, the birds settled straight away, such calm lovely girls and I'm already getting 4 eggs a day. They are also in such good condition, you can really tell they look after their animals so well.
Any expectations I had have been knocked out the park, I love my new girls, so thank you! I will be back in the future when stocks update!

We had a fantastic experience with Durham Hens! We were well advised and were provided with everything we needed to get going as first time chicken keepers. The chickens were clearly well looked after and healthy. Definitely recommend!

Great service. We got two lovely hens - a light Sussex and a speckled. They are friendly and very calm. We were told it would be a few weeks before they laid. To our surprise one laid within 3 days and the other a week later. They are both laying each day now and the eggs are lovely.

My daughter and I attended the chicken course on 22OCT22, and found it very informative, a worthwhile course prior to owning chickens. We went on to purchase 3 point of lay chickens, the starter kit and additional items (dust bath ect).
It's been two weeks since getting the girls, and we are in love. We've had two eggs a day, lots of strokes and laughs. We feel confident that if any issues arise we will have support from Durham Hens to help the girls. Thank you Alec for setting us up on this journey of hen keeping. We look forward to extending our flock!

We collected 6 beautiful mixed breed hybrid hens from Durham Hens Saturday 20th June, all doing amazingly well. We are new to chickens, and totally smitten. I’ve seen the odd negative review and I can reassure anyone 100% buy from here. These guys get 100’s of calls and messages a day, you need to be patient, but they are a small but fantastic team and you won’t be disappointed

I've used Durham Hens a number of times and never encountered any issues, over the years I've purchased probably around 20 hens and all have been healthy on collection in excellent condition, we also purchased a Durham Hen House at the beginning around 10 years ago and it's bullet proof.
The owner I've spoken to a few times on advice at the beginning of my Hen journey and he was always forthcoming with advice.
Hens are strange creatures to keep as one minute everything is great and the next minute bullying starts, it can be trying at times.
I would personally recommend Durham Hens.
