Great cafe and shop. Roast beef sandwich was delicious. As was the local ice cream. Great location and outdoor space nice. Staff super friendly. Well with a visit.

OK but expected better. Service with a frown. Every member of staff were miserable! Food was OK. Burgers OK. Frozen fries. Rubbish salad leaf and 1/4 of a slice of Cucumber. Coffee was bad but local! Won't go back. Toilet dirty too.

Such a hidden gem!
Lovely staff. Love the little farm shop too!
I had the cream of tomato soup and it was just delicious! I don’t usually like tomato soup but this has truly made me like it! 🍅

I just wish they had the Pizza there! 🍕

Not great, for 17 years we've drove by this place on our way to our Lake District holiday yearly and never tried it. Gutted to say we broke that 17 year drive by record and called for something to eat for a change and it's the most unfriendly place which doesn't seem like it belongs in the Lake District! We parked and got the dogs out of the car, the car park was quite full and with the weather hot and sunny, many people were sat outside the cafe area, eating and having coffees or teas. We walked up to the entrance and was greeted with 3 signs saying, "Open, welcome..." with no open or closing times visable. When we entered there was a cafe area to the left and a shop to the right. We could see many families sat indoor eating and drinking too, with their dogs so we started looking at the menu. Three staff then came from behind the counter to stop us going any further and said, "What do you want"? Confused we said, "We are on the road, hungry, looking for a quick bite and drink please". We were then told that they were closed and ushered us into the shop!? And a large sign moved in our way to stop us from entering the cafe? The place wasn't full but we could see lots of people eating and drinking? In the end, we entered the shop and bought 2 x tiny sandwiches and 1 x tiny loaf of bread which cost us £18 odd!!!! We would have spent whatever amount on food in the cafe for cooked food and hot drinks and probably returned every year with our friends etc but we will continue driving on by each year instead! If this place wasn't open (mid afternoon on a Friday) then don't advertise that you are and take your signs in but don't be rude to new customers either, also for 3 tiny items nearly £20 is extremely steep, when everything in the shop wasn't labelled well!

We were in the area for a few days visiting friends and popped in here for a quick coffee. By the end of our visit we had also bought some great food from the lovely farm shop including charcoal Cheddar (which was begging to be tried). We also bought a beautiful and very reasonably priced painting done by a local artist. My only regret is that this isn't my local farm shop

I was disappointed with Cross Lanes. The table hadn't been wiped after the previous customer. For me the food was tasteless, and, for me, overpriced. Not often I post poor reviews, but this place looked good but failed. Sorry. 4 out of 10.

A lovely place with very pleasant and helpful staff. I really enjoyed my cheese sandwich with chips. It's got a little play park for the younger ones which is also nice.

Decided to call in as was close to a few other farm shops. Had a local feel about it with a medium selection of items in the shop. Looked like more of a cafe setting, which we didn’t use.
