I warn any tenant with any serious underlying health conditions or young children to proceed with caution before renting one of these properties. We are on chemotherapy and Cowdray have refused for years to put us in temporary accomdation to carry out catergory 1 Hazard disrepairs caused by their failure to fix or maintain their housing stock. When you complain about the disrepairs they evict you or will raise your rent to such an astronomical unaffordable amount. Our house has been slowly killing us. Myself and my disabled children have been given 6 weeks to find alternative accomdation. Mould and damp cause serious health conditions - this was my daughter’s hair before she even started chemo. She nearly died in hospital the photos are the damp in her room . Her bedroom walls are wet and mould ridden. We have had medical mould panel Lab tests that have confirmed mould toxicity from potent carcinogenic mould strains. Please be careful…

I recently contacted the estate office about the fly fishing they offer at Cowdray. Both the office and the staff involved with the fishing were brilliant - very helpful, friendly and professional. Thank you for a great day fishing!

We hired out two of the self catering cottages, and the entire golf lodge for our wedding in July (grand total of around £3000). Throughout the course of the conversations, I was told the golf lodge was for two nights (Fri & Sat), and the cottages for 3 (Fri, Sat & Sun). Over the phone, I explained that we did not want the Sunday evening, but we would like to stay in the cottages on the Thursday instead - as there was no-one booked in at this point, it was agreed that this would be fine.
The Thursday afternoon on the way down, we were informed that this was not the case, and we - and 6 members of our families - would not be able to stay that night, but we could check in early on the Friday.
Not only were we furious at the - what we saw as - last minute change in plan, but the staff were not very helpful, claiming that we had got the dates wrong and there was nothing they could do to help us. Due to the short notice, we had no choice but to book into another hotel nearby, at a cost of £400 (plus dinner - we'd planned to cook in the cottages), and move everything we had brought down for the wedding from one hotel to the next.
The rooms were lovely, but we're still £400+ out of pocket and it was a VERY stressful situation.

Our previous visits here have been very good but not so today. Cappuccino weak and not very warm,also quite noisy in cafe. Not great experience
