Went for a late opening Christmas special.
Have been before on daytime visits for steam and diesel days.

Station and approaches were lit by lashings of fairy lights with unlimited rides on the diesel railcar.

There was food and hot drinks available on the HST restaurant cars.

All in all a great visit for a couple of hours

Lovely little railway. Reasonably priced and a really relaxing few hours in the countryside. Its veru short but that is great for the younger children. The HST buffet was awesome and the seating very comfy. Model railway, museum, carriage exhibitions, signal box and the buildings were all well preserved and lovely to visit. Shop is well stocked and all the volunteers friendly.

Been multiple times with the little lad, lots to do and see unlimited train rides on the loco’s and miniature railway. The buffet car is good value, foods good (love the cream tea). Staff are really friendly and very knowledgeable. Really Great day out.

Nice little place. Good half day out for families with kids. We went on a steam day, but sadly the steam train had broken down. It was replaced with a Diesel instead and the kids still had fun. Friendly staff, clean facilities, easy car parking, enough to entertain the kids for a few hours. Reasonably priced. We spent about 3-4 hours there and rode the trains a few times.

Yet another fantastic day out at colne valley railway!
Took the family there on one of there steam days!
There was lots todo and lots to see ?
Steam train rides
Miniature railway
Wildlife walk
Museum
Model railway
And more...

The kids loved it and imaginations were going wild as a real life steam train chuffed into the station with steam filling the platform sending us right back intime before are very eyes.
The miniature railway was a hit aswell on a nice stretch of track going alongside the main railway.
The staff was extremely friendly and we're very helpful and understanding towards to children.
Moving on the model railway and this is probably the biggest model railway that I have ever seen ... it's so impressive and once again the staff were very helpful and explained to the children on how it works and told stories to them to boost there imaginations and make them smile !

The staff here are a credit to the railway and really do make it that extra bit special. weather your a adult trying to relive the old days or a child just wanting to see a steam train for the first time , they will try and go above and beyond for that to happen.

Oh did I mention that the staff are all volunteers so everything that they do is all off there own back!

Well done colne valley railway you made all 7 of us very happy! ?

Great welcome from the team on duty. Gave us loads of information about what to see. She made sure our grandchildren had the picture quiz to take round which kept them busy throughout. Loved the unlimited steam rides. There was also a miniature railway outside reception so our young folk were straight onto that. All the staff were very welcoming, the signal man in his box was particularly interesting, telling us how the signals worked etc and he involved our young folk by getting them to pull the lever to move a signal.
Altogether a very good day out for young and not so young!
Thank you
