If you’re visiting Staithes why not pop in to Cobbles for some lovely soft whippy ice cream with the choice of sauces and cones or they do loads of different flavoured scooped ice cream as well. The staff are always welcoming and they also do amazing food too, I can highly recommend the pizza nights (my favourite is the Kebab pizza) ?

Best ice cream around. As a family we always make a stop here when we are staying nearby. Superb quality ice cream and great range of flavours. Great to sit outside on the cobbled streets and people watch or stroll down to the harbour

Pizza Saturdays is a refreshing counter to the proliferation of artisan sourdough pizzas in towns and cities across the nation. The pizzas here are like they used to be; crunchy crusts, crispy bases, lots of cheese. Choose a drink downstairs and take it up with you. It's homely and unpretentious. And also delicious. The staff are lovely, plus there's a cat called Shirley with little legs that will come visit you if you're lucky.

Beautiful village, let down by this cafe.

Staithes is a picturesque fishing village which obviously attracts a lot of tourists and not a lot of locals due to the size of the place.

What you tend to find with places like this is that they either have some well-renowned eating establishments that attract people from far and wide, or they have unremarkable ones that don’t try as they are just getting the passing trade.

Cobbles unfortunately falls into the latter category.

The seating area inside is a bit bleak, it looks like it’s been designed so you could just hose it down at the end of the day.

We ordered cake, coffee and a toasted tea cake to eat in. As we were eating in I thought it would be in a proper cup and a plate as it wasn’t cheap. But no, flimsy paper plates, wooden forks and paper coffee cups. Was not the presentation I was expecting.

Sponge cake was quite small and a bit dry. Toasted tea cake was the driest tea cake I’ve ever had; the two portions of butter barely made an impact on the tea cake! They were just swallowed up in the vast dryness of aforementioned tea cake.

I’m sure there’s not a load of repeat business and to be fair there doesn’t need to be with the amount of transient tourists passing through.

Will have to try the other cafe and tea room to see if they are more passionate about their food and drinks.

Warm, welcoming service and very helpful regarding information regarding the tides and alternative routes on the Cleveland way ( it was a very windy day!)

We had a delicious light and fluffy blueberry muffin and a couple of breakfast barms that were also very tasty. Highly recommend!

Stopped off for a hot drink and cake takeaway on a sunny but cold February day. It was very dog friendly, with even natural treats for them to eat, in the establishment, but because our dog is reactive to other dogs, we found a nice place to sit by the beck. We had two regular chocha mochas, a apple juice, and two flapjacks and one lemon curd slice, for £18.40. Can't complain, as the cakes and coffee were terrific. Happily a 5 star recommendation.

Takeaway pizzas were great. Our family chose a selection of toppings and all were lovely.

Also got ice creams and cakes/coffee here during our weekend stay - couldn't fault it.
