We’ve been at Clough bottom for nearly two years now and both me and my husband love it. More importantly, so does our pony 😀. He’s in a great routine and is really settled and happy here.

This is our first experience of being on a fully staffed yard and we love the fact that there are experienced, knowledgeable staff on hand, who know our pony really well and treat him like they would their own. We have great riding/hacking/stabling/turnout facilities and the option for additional services is priceless to us. We know we can go away on holiday or have the odd day away from the farm without worrying about our boy, because we know he’ll be taken care of whilst we’re away. The cbf team have really supported us when we’ve needed advice, had difficult days and stressful vet visits!

There’s a great community spirit here and we’ve made friends for life, both human and 4 legged! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this yard. The beautiful views we arrive to in a morning is an added bonus. Keep up the great work team cbf xx

Full livery horses left without enough food practically every night
Pitch dark at night everywhere. Turn out pens in the dark and if you leave horse muck in there you get fined, even though you can not see.
Petty, gossipy,bitchy place
If you actually like your horse, don't leave it here.
It's a fun sapping place all round. Totally takes the pleasure out of owning and enjoying your horse

I should have posted this review some time ago but life runs away with us!! After seeing one of the liveries on my full liverie block has left a negative review i feel it’s only right to write my review.

After a not so nice experience on another yard the owners and staff helped me the best they could in a matter of days i had to get off the old yard to accommodate me, my daughter and our 2 horses. We’ve now been here 2 years on the 2nd Jan 😊

The owners and staff go above and beyond to look after your horses, they treat them like they are their own. Nothing is ever to much trouble!!
I’m a big believer of you treat people how you like to be treated, that way you won’t go far wrong.

Me, myself and our 2 horses absolutely love it on this yard our only regret is we didn’t move here sooner.

Keep working hard the cloughbottom team, don’t let the minority bring you down your doing a fantastic job 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I moved on to this yard a few months ago and all the staff are brilliant with my two year old he has settled in really well. Everyone is really friendly and helpful I cant fault this yard there is fabulous Facilities the yard is well kept and is always clean. I would recommend this yard to any one its the best yard we have been on.

This yard is appalling and I would not recommend it, hence 1 star review. Service offered does not meet basic horse care nor welfare needs. Full livery contract payable in advance yet services do not comply with information outlined. Feet not picked out and rug changes do not take place. Horses legs not washed and my horse developed severe mud rash, despite raising this to the owner's/staff attention, products left to be used outside the stable, it was completely disregarded. Ad-lib promoted, yet we attended on more than one occasion and my horse was left without haylage.Horse in need of veterinary attention and unable to compete.
Language used at the yard and demeanour is also poor. Owner lacks professionalism, sensitiveness and is rather money orientated.
Despite, paying for additional extras like shavings, extra care for my horse ( to be exercised, extra walks), arena hire staff/owner feels the need to comment on your choices, fails to provide updates on your horse in a timely manner when on full livery. Moreover, freedom is restricted to enjoy your horse with your own instructor/fully insured as "this is stealing her business".
Poor lighting throughout, extra charges on a meter for electricity (not mentioned upon viewing nor full livery contract), lanes not de-iced, numerous pot holes and so forth. Yard is extremely noisy and busy, certainly not a calm, relaxing environment even though the landscape may portray this.
Please avoid or approach with caution as information omitted upon initial visit and add-ons as you go along.

Response***Vet was out on the 14.11.2023 to check our horse, so this appears to be contradictory to your accusations. Moreover, when it came to light, infected mud rash, this was also referred to the vet and further instructions given. Please refer to my messages when irritation noted on her legs if confused or in doubt. My horse was in your care, no recommendations whatsoever to not turn her out, the fact lies in not brushing or rinsing her legs, changing rugs, basic care (excuse given by you: "she was just brought in from the field"). We have also emphasised to put her in the turn out pens only, refrain from grass turnout. Full Livery package seems to differ from client to client, but this was not discussed from the onset only when I flagged feet not being picked out and legs not washed, cleaned. Livery fees paid in excess of £800 for services that do not meet the standards. Notice period applies, this is paid in advance and owner refuses to refund, despite being in breach of a livery contract hence why WE ARE STILL HERE PLUS FESTIVE SEASON. Nonetheless, we have already made arrangements to leave and informed you of this hence your demeanour and poor attitude since we have given notice. Insurance presented accordingly and evidence will be given to court if needed. I need to reiterate though that you aim the deviate the subject, which is the care of my horse that has been in dispute and raised your voice at an outside instructor in front of children whilst in the possession of a valid insurance. Evidence available to confirm this.
I have also got extensive chronological evidence such as messages, pictures, physio reports and vet attendance reports. Horse did not compete when unwell plus you were aware of vet visit!!
Sadly, on full livery we attend everyday now to ensure her needs are met and were expected to do so to pick out her feet.
On another note, are you linking previous and the only reported lameness on my horse's file to mud rash? This is something I ought to consider when submitting a claim in court.
Please do not distort information, group livery chat record will back up my statement as well as witness statements will be provided. It is shameful that as a business you refuse to take any responsibility and continue to dismiss honest reviews and experience by comparing it to the "clicks" at your yard, this demonstrates the extent of my time here. Take ownership, listen to your clients and address them in the manner any business should, respectfully.***

I moved onto this yard a few months ago. Great community, great facilities and great staff. I broke my ribs and scapula a few weeks ago - could not have had better back up! Put my boy on full livery at a moment’s notice, the staff stepped in and really took care of him - a weight off my mind whilst I was in hospital. Now I’m recovering I’m able to mix and match to my own timetable! Not sure what else I could wish for!! 😃
