If you are visiting ashford/surrounding areas, this is the place to go.

Fantastic experience! The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient, making us feel welcome from the start. The menu was ambitious, varied, and executed beautifully. We shared a portion of halloumi fries to start, which were delicious, and our mains were just as impressive—fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. The desserts were the perfect finish, with the banoffee pie being an absolute standout. Presentation was superb across all courses. Highly recommend Chequers on the Green!

I cannot believe I am reading the reviews that say the food was good. The meal I had yesterday was one of the worst meals I have ever eaten. It looked terrible and tasted as if an amateur had prepared it. I can only presume the Main chef had a day off. As I was a guest and not paying for the meal, I did not say anything if I had been paying, I would have sent the main course back the desert was fine. Would never eat here again absolutely a waste of money, service was fantastic.

A very good country pub serving Harvey's Sussex best and quality carvery on Sundays.

The pub is a well oiled machine with excellent organisation. No waiting but also not rushed.

A good sized gravel car park to rear.

WOW!

The food is amazing especially the burgers which are made in house with locally sourced meat.

This is my wife and I’s second visit to the pub; we returned this evening as we had such a lovely experience at the beginning of the week with Jordan.

Austen looked after us this evening. The pub has a lovely atmosphere and was very busy for a mid-week evening.

There is a good selection of food on the menu. I have never seen Bao Buns on a pubs menu before and wow they were delicious…. Photo attached 😁

We are on holiday in Kent and if we are ever in the area again we will certainly be popping in to see Jordan, Austen and the team. They were so welcoming and will do anything to ensure your visit is enjoyable.

Amazing food! And the staff were all lovely and were very attentive even though it was a very busy lunchtime for them. Everyone was distanced and it felt like a very safe environment! Well done to the management and staff for making it such an enjoyable meal out.
