Ordered new kitchen oven housing unit, worktop and sink last year. Very fast delivery and superb quality. I then decided to renew my bathroom basin, base and wall cupboard. Absolutely gorgeous. Once again, fast delivery and excellent quality. Simply cannot fault the service from the lovely staff at Checkers in Churchtown. Thank you very much.

I'm very very disappointed with Checkers.
I went here because it is a local business rather than a soulless national company. I thought this would mean good customer service if there were any issues either at the time or later.
Wrong!
Once Checkers had finished the installation of a new kitchen, their after sales Customer Service was disgraceful. It was totally non existent.

They were totally intransigent about an installation problem which caused the end floor to ceiling unit/ wall to collapse taking with it all the interior shelves and everything (mainly irrepaceable inherited glassware) on the shelves being smashed.

Their Customer Service department (Stuart) said initially that I should have noticed that the 'kitchen installer' had glued the shelf & wall components together (including the end 'wall') - with no support brackets! I pointed out that I am no expert in fitting a kitchen... that I had trusted them to do that.

He also said it was probably the weight on the shelves - which it wasn't.
Then said any guarantee was for problems "which manifest themselves within twelve months" of installation. I pointed out that the glue would obviously take longer than twelve months to dry out.
Then he said we had no guarantee because the kitchen fitters were not direct employees - they were all contracted out.

He then asked me to send photos of the problem. Which I did.

When I pursued it further, he said their computer system had been updated so he had no record of the fitters!

I would not recommend this company to anyone.
If you have an issue - as you can see from the foregoing - they are not interested.

The really sad part is that I got a local joiner in to do the repairs. He was shocked there were no support brackets and said the unit would be fine once he installed support brackets. It was not an expensive job!
Checkers have really let their reputation down.

Door finish issue reported 14 months after installation.

The product was not fit for purpose, they wanted to paint them! We wanted replacement.

Checkers have tried to pass on to the manufacturer; our contract is with them.

We receive no active follow up from Checkers.

We have now had to raise a section 75 credit card claim against Checkers

Came in For wallpaper and the ladies where extremely helpful and friendly, they answered the many questions I had to ask and went through books with me and my order arrived within a week, can’t wait to see it up! Excellent service, highly recommend!! ♥️

After my mum had work done on her kitchen and then bathroom a couple of few years later, it's become my go- to place for almost any diy/home improvement, I even recently ordered a bedroom ( supply only as I am a joiner) the team in checkers where so helpful during the ordering process and even delivered, I would recommend checkers without hesitation.

We have just had our 2nd Fitted Bedroom done. It is absolutely fantastic as was the first. Everyone was very helpful from the shop to the planner and delivery man. Kevin and Tommy (Blues Brothers) were very friendly, funny and professional. They worked very hard and long days.

Checkers fitted some sliding wardrobes, the service and product we received was shockingly bad. Customer service when they have your money is none existent. The first fitter nailed through the front of the frame and expected me to fill and paint over!! There were also up to inch gaps all around the sides. The whole thing had to be ripped out. The second fitter worked around what the first fitter had put in and the finished article was poor. They want money before delivery of product and aren’t interested with after sales. I would avoid at all costs. We thought checkers had a good name but from our experience their standards are at rock bottom.

Went into Checkers to choose fabric for curtains and blind which we did, This was April this year. Was told there was a bit of a wait we said that was fine. Still not heard from them no update nothing, decided to go elsewhere.
