We had a lovely relaxing day but feel the facilities were lacking for a modern spa as the sauna is no larger than a double wardrobe and there's not much to do other than swim this time of year.

At lunch, the buffet food was okay, no-one came to take our drink order and it was cold in the dining area.

We arrived for our 9am start and the car park was already full, not the most relaxing start to the day having to park in the mud.

Staff are amazing; Toby in the cafe also Robina and Mo dashing about making sure we were happy with everything. |The pool was a bit cool as was the jacuzzi but the thermal pool was pleasant but rather frothy! Some areas are beginning to look tired now including the conservatory and poolside. We didn’t book any classes, as they were full and I always think the treatments are overpriced. As regular customers and delights members we always ask for a room upgrade but have been told the last few times that it’s full … not sure that was entirely true! Still, it’s a lovely place to spend time relaxing with friends.

Day spa experience, overall a great day, some areas are a bit run down though and the pool area can get really busy, not enough sitting for everyone. People tend to stay there all day, leaving towels on beds. Massage was great, some of the quiet areas were good to relax and the food for lunch was 10/10. Overall a great trip but some areas could be improved as mentioned. Staff super friendly.

Thanks for a relaxing Saturday.

Didn’t stay so can’t comment on rooms.

Positives: Hotel and rooms were nice, very peaceful and clean. Spa facilities were very good, working well and plenty of space. Grounds were nicely kept and various spaces to relax were pleasant. Treatment facilities were good and massage was professional and pleasant. All staff were very friendly

Cons: the food was pretty rubbish unfortunately at both dinner and breakfast. Anything that was an extra cost was pricey too. No need to charge £4.45 for a flat white, £3.80 for 200ml of lemonade, or £6 for a 330ml bottle of Asahi on top of the few hundred we'd spent on the booking already.

A lovely break with great friends. We visit altogether every six months and are welcomed back by the friendly staff - in particular, Robina, Toby and Jane in the shop. |Food is such a highlight - looks good and tastes good. Lots of choices too at every mealtime. |Everywhere is very clean and smelling pleasant. |Classes were busy or full but there is high demand in January. |Comfy beds and pillows.

This is my second time at Henlow.||I booked a two night stay. I upgraded upon booking to a superior double. I was given room 42 which is next to the fitness studio. I noticed that a lot of people stop here to talk, and I planned to spend a lot of time in my room as I was studying. When I started to unpack I noticed a mold on the wall and curtains and the room was generally very tired.||I asked at reception and they kindly moved me to Room 11, which is in the manor house. It was a much nicer room, but still a little tired.||The staff here are excellent. They are friendly and professional. They say hello to you when they see you in a corridor. The staff in the restaurant are welcoming and attentive. Toby in the cafe area was a delight.||The thing about Henlow is that the staff are carrying it. They make it. But the building really needs a good overhaul now. I understand that the Manor House is an old building, but it could still be better maintained. I paid a lot of money to visit and at times it felt like a Travelodge.||I think if the management of Champneys spent a week there and really looked at the place with fresh eyes, they could see where things could change for the better. ||The robes no longer have security tags on, which is lovely!||The food is delicious and plentiful.||I would rather not have to pay £3 to book a class either - I feel like this should be included - or even a limit of 2 classes a day before you pay?||I am not sure I will return to Henlow - which is a shame. But it just needs a facelift

Went for 2 nights with my daughter on 2nd Jan. Room ok and in a good location, (we have been many times before), however the ceiling over the bath was black, damp and needs a paint. |The staff that were there work hard but they needed more staff in the restaurant as Mo, who was great, seems to be rushing around with a few very young staff. You have to wait quite a while for your dinner order to be taken too as the few staff are rushing around like headless chickens. The heated pool spa wasn’t working and neither was the outside spa for very long (ie a couple of hours). On our last day, Saturday, the hydrotherapy pool wasn’t working either until much later in the day. 3 heated pools out of action - not acceptable. Hairdresser closed until 4 Jan. |Too many people and not enough places to sit as people hog the beds and nobody checks. I understand it is after the New Year however you pay the same whenever you go and you expect good service and the facilities to be open and working. |Also on 2nd Jan in the evening, we went to sit in the room that usually has a fire. Nobody was in there but each table had leftover charcuterie board debris with dirty tables. Nobody there to clear up. The next night - no fire again and it was freezing to sit in there. The board games seem to have disappeared too. Definitely a deterioration and disappointment on former visits.
