I came here with my partner to buy a few essentials for our stay. I was really impressed. The cheese was delicious & the atmosphere reminded me of my rural roots. The butchers had a great range of meat & the young girl was very welcoming. I'm absolutely coming here again. GOOD JOB!

A village community shop, run by volunteers, CQF has a selection of delicious savoury delicatessen products that draw me back whenever I can (occasionally) pass by. The best Scoth Eggs, delicious quiches, superb pasties - as well as a full range of grocery products, some I've never seen elsewhere. Next door is a traditional butchers, that also appeals, but is not for passing snacks.

A visit is strongly recommended, if you can reasonably adjust your journey to enjoy a treat!

All that said, inevitably they do not exactly price-match Aldi, but you cannot expect that from a quite remote rural gem.

I am deeply impressed! There's a very high quality butchers next door (I have to admit I'm impressed they have lamb breast and whole pork belly), and in this shop there was...
- locally grown fruit and vegetables
- good bottled cider
- lots of bottled beer
- local eggs
- all sorts of cakes, sweets, and goodies
- I forgot to mention the cheese selection is amazing and much of it local (try the blue sheep's cheese)
- Scotch eggs of original and lovely other recipes you NEED to try

Guys, forget the Diddly Squat shop. Go here. The butcher is lovely and has things you don't have to pay top dollar for to have an incredible meal (and all the things that are worth top dollar), oh and the delicatessen... i have to admit that I'm in love.

Just... trust me. I'm a fussy foodie with a South African to feed. Just go here if you need anything and give a flying monkeys about local economy and community and love good food.

Fantastic little shop! Fresh fruit, veg & cheese; top quality soups and sauces; fresh bread & cakes... An amazing selection for a shop that's almost in the middle of nowhere and very friendly, helpful staff.
Highly recommended.

If you fancy beautiful scotch eggs, lovely freshly made pasties/ sausage rolls and really good produce - don't go to 'you know who's place, come here. Heaven!'
