Don't be put off by the size and location of this family run vineyard.
Limited tour due to the vineyard being in the middle of wine production, however, David our guide was very well informed and knowledgeable. It was the best 'tasting' experience I have had and I have now learnt how to taste wines properly. The ploughman's lunch was nice and fresh and wine could be purchased by the glass if wished. Would suggest that maybe the inclusion of tea or coffee on arrival or with lunch could be considered.
All in all a very good experience.

A lovely tour with David ‘the Hat’ who regaled us with wonderful Vineyard history and stories. Hoping for some Spring weather but even with cloudy skies we had a lovely time, the tasting and ploughman’s lunch was delightful. The Vineyard buildings are tired and old fashioned and could do with some TLC but such lovely staff & experience you can overlook this somewhat

Came here with my mum on a sunny Saturday afternoon in early September. The weather was impeccable, sunny with a few pieces of cloud. I do recommend to come on a sunny day, or it will look way less beautiful. Though the scale of the vineyard is nowhere as big as the ones in California/Australia/France but its uniqueness makes it so special in East Sussex.

The drive is very easy following Google Maps. You can follow the Carr Taylor vineyard sign and get here easily.

As my mum doesn’t understand English there is no point for us to join the tour. We paid £5 each for the self guided tour. First we stopped at the shop, a staff member gave us a map after charging us. It took around 45 mins for us to walk around the vineyard. We stopped very often and took a lot of photos. 45 mins is more than enough.

We came in early September the grapes are not big yet. But the trees are green. Normally the harvest season is early October.

After the tour, we started wine tasting. We tried 6-8 different wines and found some of them were really good. There are picnic tables outside of the shop. If you are not eating here, bring some food and enjoy yourself with the wine!

We spent around 2 hours here for self guided tour. We walked out and took the bus from Churchfield station to Hastings. It could be a very nice day trip from London.

Came here for a wine tasting experience. Really enjoyed, and our guide Malcolm was very informative and funny. Part of the tour was a ploughman’s lunch which was very nice, lots of food served on a Buffett. Also a shop to purchase the wines. Recommend a trip here.

Beautiful, quaint vineyard. All staff were friendly, informative and a credit to the experience. The guide was educational and humorous; able to accommodate all levels of wine tasting and able to explain the wine making process in an accessible and enjoyable way. Would highly recommend the experience - late May to September is likely the best time to visit (when the vines are in bloom), though we went in April and it was still a fantastic experience.

This was my first wine tasting experience. We went as a group of four. It was a great day! Malcolm was a fantastic tour guide, very knowledgeable and very funny 😁 . The staff were lovely. Our lunch was very tasty and the wine was superb 👌 I would highly recommend a wine tasting package here or even just popping in for the wine. Thank you Carr Taylor 🥂
