I’ve noticed some one-star reviews about Buy the Kilo, and I feel they don’t reflect the reality of what the shop and Jackie offer. Jackie, who works there, is incredibly helpful and goes out of her way to support customers. In fact, she even offered work experience to people, showing how much she cares about helping others and contributing to the community. It’s clear that she works hard to keep the shop running, and it’s disappointing to see negative reviews that don’t acknowledge her efforts. Jackie is always kind, professional, and attentive to customers’ needs, and her dedication to the shop deserves recognition.

Aside from her wonderful customer service, Buy the Kilo has a great range of products, including dried fruits and much more. One of the coolest features is the peanut butter machine, where you can make fresh, natural peanut butter right on the spot. It’s a fantastic place to visit if you’re looking to make healthier choices, and Jackie’s helpfulness adds so much to the experience. If you’re considering improving your health and enjoying quality, fresh products, this shop is definitely worth a visit.

By the Kilo is a fantastic shop! The concept of bringing your own tubs is not only eco-friendly but also allows for a personalized shopping experience. The selection of products is impressive, with a variety of grains, nuts, and snacks to choose from. Everything is fresh, and you can really tell they prioritize quality. Wow, this shop is absolutely massive!
Jackie is incredibly friendly and helpful, and the selection of food and spices is massive. You can find almost any spice you could need here, and the dried foods are top quality. The dried apples are especially good. They even sell sanitary products!
The soaps smell wonderful, and the whole shop has a lovely aroma.
It's also really affordable. You only pay for what you need, which is great if you only need a small amount of something. Plus, it's eco-friendly because they use paper bags and you can buy in bulk to reduce waste.

If you would like to support friendly and local small businesses, here is the place to go. Jackie, the worker is very down to earth and friendly.

This shop is very ecologically friendly, its experience labelled as "zero waste shopping", it is great to see businesses making these changes to adapt to current issues in this world.

A year or so ago she and her store along with volunteers held an art exhibition showing the shocking consequences of plastic and the ocean. This art exhibition was simply inspiring and shows her willingness to help the nearby community.

I would recommend going to this store as it offers ecologically friendly packaging, sustainably resourced foods and lovely workers.

If you're along the coastline or in North Shields this shop is a healthy and smart option for anyone.

This place was quite literally incredible.
I went to Buy the Kilo today and as soon as I walked in I almost threw all my nuts out of the jar. 👏

The atmosphere was very calming to be in, I could tell everybody really wanted to tackle the climate crisis.

When I first came in I couldn’t see Jackie so I thought to myself “When’s Jackie coming in?”
Little did I know she was serving another customer who no offence had an incredibly long nose.
Jackie was so friendly to me and informed me about how I could help to prevent climate change.

I would recommend the pasta.

Oh my gosh!! Where do I even begin?
This shop is AMAZING!! 🤩
Jackie is super friendly and allows for the shopping experience to really become better!
The range of foods and spices is just phenomenal as you could literally purchase almost any spice!

It is extremely affordable as you pay for what you need and is so convenient if you only need a few ingredients!
Not only this but its incredibly eco friendly! It has very low waste rates, I assume as you only buy what you need, However all packaging is used in paper bags!
