Who would have thought the beautiful spa town of Buxton in the middle of the Peak District would be the world's top spot for a perfect coffee?

There are two things which set Buxton Roastery apart for me. First, most obviously - the coffee. It's the best I've ever tasted, it smells good enough to turn heads (I'm not kidding - I took a bag in to work and suddenly it was like I was the pied piper, with an ever-growing group of undercaffeinated office workers blindly following me to the coffee machine!).

Second, the people. They're infectiously excited about their roasts - always wanting to test new mixes and grinds, and really caring about the quality of the brew.

It's a hot summer day while I type this, sat with a mellow cold-brewed glass next to me, and I just can't get enough. Their Peang Thai is sublime - all the heavenly aspects of a perfect coffee, with none of the bitterness or sourness I honestly thought was just inescapable no matter how good the beans.

If you're looking for a hard jolt with a real punchy flavour then this isn't the one for you. Personally, I can't stand espresso so strong and bitter that it makes you wince, and Peang Thai is the perfect antedote to that. It seems farly low caffiene and delicately flavoured, which is ideal for me as I drink it for the taste rather than the buzz, and it allows me to drink it throughout the day without being kept up all night.

I feel like a Buxton Roastery evangelist as I love their coffees so much, so I want to be clear that I'm not connected to them in any way at all either personally or in business, I'm just a big fan 🙂

Amazing coffee!! These guys really know their coffee! They also spent the time to talk to me about where they source it from, how they roast it and the best ways to grind it, prepare it and drink. They are also a genuinely ethical company who buy direct from the coffee farmer to ensure they get a fair amount of money for the crop and to ensure the coffee is of the highest quality. Thanks for a great experience! ☕

We visited Buxton Roastery this afternoon and received a warm welcome from Mim and Iain. They treated us to a tasting and the hand-roasted coffee was absolutely divine - a very special experience. I highly recommend a trip to the roastery to appreciate the quality of their blends, but if you can't make it their packaged coffee is also delicious. We hope to visit again soon!

This is the best coffee I’ve ever tasted bar none.
Really quick delivery, the bags are well sealed and provide a roasted on date so you know how fresh it is.

Will definitely be buying again.

After seeing the Roastery on Instagram we phoned to see if we could pop by for a coffee. Even though this isn't a typical coffee 'shop' they said we could indeed pop in even though the roastery wasn't due to be open on the day.

The roastery itself is like an art gallery. Ian Made us feel welcome and was happy to share his knowledge of the roasting and brewing processes as well as the overall coffee trade, all whilst treating us to the best cups of coffee we've ever had!

Called in to collect a prize I had won via Instagram and what a welcome I had, Iain couldn't have been more helpful, he made me many sample coffee's to help me choose my 2 free bags along with giving me a good incite into where all the beans come from along with the roasting process. I would defiantly recommend Buxton Roastery for their knowledge and passion for what they do.
