Well looked after camp site! Toilets are generally free from bugs, spiders and webs!
A washing up area provided with washing up liquid and table is a lovely touch! Dispite the torrential rain all was going well.

Met the owner the first night and was very welcoming to us and our group of 7. Had the camp pretty much to ourselves the first night. A few bikers pitched up on their travels and lovely to speak to.

Due to having 4x4's we were asked to take different routes through the camp as not to ruin the soaked grass (which was rather long and needed a cut) 'No problem' we said 'completely understand' and we kept our word!

Second day went down hill.. a couple of families with kids turned up in the afternoon. They had a few issues skidding in the wet grass (no biggy although did make clear tracks) The families all had a great time running around and playing with our dogs. Sadly we were asked to tie them up regardless of all the kids and all other campers running around with them. We did as asked. I all honesty we didn't really look into too much detail after reading that dogs were allowed. They ended up staying in the truck for the rest on the evening/night.

Be aware if taking a dog, thay must be tethered at all times!

During this conversation we were told, and I quote "if I knew you had 4x4's I never would have accepted your booking"
At that point we still had one more night to stay and felt fully unwelcome and on edge.

(We are a respectful group and have never in the past had any issues)

All the kids woke us up early morning as loud kids do and wanted to run with the dogs when they saw us up, but we had to refuse and disappoint.

No doubt we were being blamed for the skid marks.... NOTE 4x4's do not skid and camp sites get muddy in rain and worse in long grass..

There was a large group of us staying there, all adults. We stayed in Marmadukes Rest. The kitchen, dining, living area is a great space, very communal and open with windows looking out on the landscape.
There's plenty of parking. 2 shower rooms, 2 WCs. It was everything we needed it to be for the weekend.
