Had an interesting mix of flavours and textures in my Balkan breakfast (see photo) which worked very well. A mixture of breads, paste, eggs and sausages. My other two friends had the very tasty shakshuka and pancakes. A lot on the upside, drinks good and decent price, location, setting atmosphere but just wish waitresses weren’t so surly … the owner however was very pleasant and chatted with us at our table. I’ve been a few times and will go again. Good value for money at least the brunch items we had which included a glass of sparkling for £6. Go try the out the varied menu.

The best brunch and coffee spot in Hackney Wick. The ingredients in the English breakfast are all top quality from the sausage to the sauce in the beans to the bread. Friendly and helpful staff. They also sell a great loaf of sourdough. They can also adapt the breakfasts to be gluten free, inc. bread. The coffee blend is on the stronger side but expertly made. Would come again and would definitely recommend.

I love Burnt Umber. Always a friendly welcome. Always something tasty on offer. Today we enjoyed a black bean burger and Shakshouka. And latte and a coconut hot chocolate. Then we shared a slice with f nicely sliced carrot cake. All very good. Thank you. We aim to return soon : )

Very cosy and warm place for a dinner with friends. Unusual menu, quiet music, very friendly staff.
I have never tried chestnut soup before - loved it! Such an autumn dish. I enjoyed my salmon in saffron souse - so tender, went well with a glass of wine. Had a great time trying new flavours and chatting with friends. Will be back for another evening out. 😍
