As a relatively new fly fisherman (coarse fishing 40+ years) I've been trying to visit many stillwater venues. This is about 70 minutes away from where I live and was worth the drive! A friendly welcome from both the owner and other fisherman who gave me a lot of useful information for the day. I started on Brick Lake, missed a few pulls on a Daddy (about 1 foot below the surface) and then got snapped after switching to a Black, blue flash, damsel. Definitely a good fish unfortunately! I then switched to Spring Lake, which appears to be shallower but very clear and a lot of weed. The pegs are really well set out and after watching some nice trout and a few casts I'd landed 2 good rainbows each 2lb+. I spent the rest of the morning/afternoon gradually walking around the lake. Again, really clear and I spotted lots of fish, including a few nice looking perch! I finally ended up opposite to where I started and after seeing quite a few fish move managed to land one of them, to reach my bag limit for the day. I did walk around the other 2 lakes. Both quite busy and looked in great condition. Finally, it was a change to be able to use a bathroom and clean up a little before driving home. The bathroom area is probably the best I've seen at a fishery. So, overall a really nice set up, helpful people and apparently plenty of decent fish too. Differing challenges in the 4 lakes. I'll definitely be back at some point as I hone my fly fishing experiences and skills.

Sovereign Harbour Yacht Club were delighted to be able to hold their Fluff Chuckers Autumn Challenge Cup Competition at Brick Farm Lakes on Saturday 12th October. The competition was organised by our chief Fluff Chucker Bob Lawrence. There were fourteen anglers taking part, some experienced and some quite new to the sport. What a picturesque place to fish, with superb views up the valley and, as always, we were warmly welcomed in the lodge for tea/coffee and superb bacon rolls to start the day. It was a damp start but after four hours the prize for the biggest bag went to Dave Davies and it was only his second time fly fishing. He put it down to the great teaching he had the previous weekend from Bob Lawrence. Thank you to the amazing team at Brick Farm Lakes. See you soon.

New to living in the area and started regularly fishing this trout fishery. With a dozen visits under my belt I have caught multiple times on ALL 4 lakes with biggest fish of 5lb 2oz but there are some double figure plus fish in this venue. In such a beautiful setting for this well maintained fishery with managers and staff that really make you feel welcome with a vast knowledge about the sport and each one of their lakes will openly let you know what’s fishing where, when and how. The facilities have a traditional welcoming lodge with first class toilet, beverages and light snacks also stocking a variety of tackle just in case you forget to bring anything on the day. They hold casting tutorial lessons if needed for beginners and offer a full tackle hire if anyone should need. As a new regular to Brick Farm Fishery I really can vouch for a great days fishing from beginners to pros so check it out and get a bend in those rods

Tucked away in the East Sussex countryside Brick Farm Lakes is a real gem of a Trout Fishery!
I Recently joined as a member on a bulk ticket. Four lovely lakes to fish all within a few minutes walking distance for those of us advanced in years. The bulk ticket removes the pressure of having to catch to get your money's worth each time you fish, enabling a peaceful relaxed experience with opportunities to experiment using different flies and tactics.
With fin perfect hard fighting Rainbow's, Brown's and Spartic's it's a real pleasure to fish here.
A well kept environment with a really nice lodge serving tea with other refreshments available. Clean loos.
As it's also an ideal place for youngsters to learn the gentle art of flyfishing I'll be taking a grandson there soon.
